Great Rpg but beware on modern systems

I played nearly through the Game last year with this version. Encountered 2 Bugs,1 i could solve cause it seem to be pretty common. Was abug where you have to play a xoxox game in a tavern. The second was a bug where during a sneaking mission the game froze every time i tried it. Problem is,it was part of the Main Quest. Thus i had to stop my playthrough at a point where i was heavily immersed in the game. Pretty sad. But i wonder how many of the reviewers here played acutally full through this version. Aside of this its a really nice Rpg,enjoyed the time in this world.

Blade Warrior

Interesting

I have to be Honest. When i see Simon Bisley Artwork on a Game my attention is instandly catched. There are a few Games out there that are really good and have a Cover done by him. About Blade Warrior i never heard before. But im glad that my love for Bisley Artwork brought me to this Game, its a little Gem to me. The Artstyle is interesting as well as the Gloomy Athmosphere. Gameplay Mechanics and the World are my kind of thing. Since there is no Soundtrack i would recommend listening to some Dungeon Synth while playing. I wonder why gog doesnt bother to add a Manual to it,but you can easily find it on the internet.

Diablo + Hellfire

Still great

Still a great Game that i enjoy to play from time to time. Really love that its a bit more simple than D2 but still has enough depth to dive into. I sure love also D2 but 1 can still hold up especially with its Athmosphere. Remember its old,so if you arent familiar with it,its not like D2 or Online Mode.Save often. I recommend playing it with Devilution Port, but the GoG Game runs also well. Thanks for bringing this to modern Systems.

Warhammer 40,000: Sanctus Reach

Underrated

Because of high Expectations i guess. I rarely write Reviews, but here i have to. I waited a really long time with buying this Game, and im happy i finally did buy it with the Dlc's. What you get is a Game thats like the Tabletop, also in its Storytelling. Some Flavor Text and thats it.But even i think they could have used atleast some more Illustrations there. The Actual Combat is easy to understand, and for me atleast alot of Fun. Im currently about 20 Hours in the Game and cant get enough. I like the few Tracks in the Game,Athmospheric Stuff. The Animations are ok,but the Corpses could have needed some more Variations. But a Battlefield with Burned out Vehicles and killed Orcs still looks amazing. You also dont have to go too much into Units statistics if you dont want to,the Game is easily understandable. Its the right Game to get into for some Hours and evening, but also for some longer Game Sessions.

Witchaven

Fills my Sword and Sorcery Needs

We get alot of Stuff these Days in Fantasy Games. But what seems almost forgotten in Games is the Old Sword and Sorcery Genre. Especially the Style like the Coverart for these Games present. It doesnt hold up completely once you start the Game, but i have a total blast with it. You can see that it isnt the Best Game, but also not the Worst. Its like one of these Pre Conan Movies like Ator you watch from Time to Time, have some Fun and remember it well for what it is. To me its also great that you dont play a Magician. In these Games i want a Warrior with an Horned Helmet slashing with Axes and Swords through his Enemies. Sure, here you have Spells but you dont need to use them often. Elderborn is the most current thing that comes close to what i search in these Kind of Games. But even this has Designs that i dont like. Yes,theres also Graven, but in Graven you play as a Magician. So nothing for me. But back to Witchaven. Personally,i love the exploring, and also the Fighting. its basic and clunky but you get used to it. Expect not much and the Game maybe surprises you. I never played Witchaven 1 and 2 before, and its great that i can play them now.

Black Mirror

Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition

Still my Favorit

You know why? Cause that what many dont like about it is exactly my Cup of Tea. I like all Infinity Engine Games, but this stays my Favorit because it doesnt force a Background for your Char and with this stays more true to the PnP's. I like to play mostly Barbarians or Shamans and Stuff and Backgrounds like these doesnt work well with being an Adopted Child of an old Mage. Also im quite bored nowadays of all the Romance Stuff that is in these Games and all the Dialogues you sometimes have to go through. For sure, the big Focus on the Fighting can get boring after a while but to me never so much as when i read through Tomes of Dialogue. When im in Mood for Stuff like this, its also ok. But i guess most Rpgs did Things like this too much in the Last Years.

ELDERBORN

Worth the Money

Great hidden Gem in a few Years id say. In General if you like Skillbased Combat and are done with Dark Souls and similiar Games take a Look at this one. Gameplay is Fun and the Game itself heavily Athmospheric. I started on Elderborn Difficulty and had a blast with it. Years ago i always looked at the Gameplay Time, but nowadays i see that a short Game doesnt mean bad or not worth the Price. Its one of those Games you want more of after playing, and i think thats better than a really Long Game with that youre bored after finishing it (And btw, theres NG+) In Combination with what i wrote about and the Cheap Price in general its absolutely worth it. In addition i should mention that im a Huge Fan of Low Fantasy, everything Barbaric and for sure Robert E Howards storys. I always look for Games and think we live in Times where you can consider yourself Lucke when Modern Devs make a Game that leans towards a Setting like this. Its Artstyle isnt as Dirty or 80s as i like it,like lets say Artworks for the Dark Sun Games and Frazettas Artworks (Weaponlord anyone?) But its a nice Blend of some of the Themes around Stuff like this. It really feels like a Throwback to lighthearted low Fantasy of the 80s,i love it.
