Hidden Mysteries: Titanic

A fun little romp

Very light little game here, some rather funny characters and ridiculous situations. Mainly hidden object puzzles, but a few point and click puzzles as well and mini games. Nothing really shines but is perfect for a relaxing little afternoon of puzzling with a bit of narrative added in for good measure. 3.5 stars

Full Throttle Remastered

Trash remake, like always.

Step one.. Go to options, click classic graphics and undo any features remake may have to offer. Step two.... begin game, and start playing one of the best point and click adventure games of all time. Step three... every once and a while go back to the trash main menu and take notice of how far the genre has fallen, how ridiculous and soft everything has to be. Step four... keep playing amazing amazing game until you are finished. And no.. do not look at a walkthrough, it will be much better when the credits roll if you dont. Enjoy!

Boxville 2

Here we go again.. Boxville

Oh man, I do love some Boxville! Glad they put out a second adventure. I'd say that this one is two step forwards and one step back... which is still a step in the right direction! We have a much larger world here for better and for worst. It starts out playing like a more traditional point and click adventure game.. we have a bunch of areas linked together with lots of variables to try to piece together. Along with some logic puzzles that require some pretty solid head scratching. Then you go off on a sort of adventure. Which is sort of fun, but the problem is each chapter of your journey is only a handful of rooms, with only two or three items max it seems... Instead of trying to figure out how to piece things together, you are generally playing a little mini game... like Battleship... or Ro Sham Bo (sp?). This is still fun, but it sort of takes away from what they had going with the early point and click adventure dynamic. This also makes some areas fly by in an instance, which seems a bit sad as the art is so nice, I would love to be forced to stick around it for longer! It took about 4.5 hours with no hints or walkthroughs, so it's a nice little jaunt through the park. I'd love to see a third one! Perhaps with a built out badguy... and instead of just on some vast adventure, keep it in one city and really get some coherant world building going. Go Boxville!

Realms of Antiquity: The Shattered Crown

What a quest!

This game was a true surprise. The magic that is squeezed out of these retro specs is truly a sight to behold. Traveling the different realms leaves you with a sense of wonder, each one telling it's own tale, each one bursting from the screen with vibrant colors, each with it's own flavor. Exploration is a real treat here. So many secrets, so much atmosphere, you could just wander around for days. The mechanics are very simple, but in a good way, nothing gets in the way of your wandering of the land! Simple combat, skills/stats. You can beat it with just about any combination of classes, so there is real freedom to play the style that suits your fancy. The only drawback I can think of is that at times I really wanted to spend more time in a specific region. The savage Isle or the deserts of the west could have been an entire game on their own! I will truly miss some of these magical little nooks. Thanks for making this wonderful game, if there is a sequal I will be first in line!

DOOM 64

I love me some Doom!

Doom 1, 2, 64, 3 - these are the games that have that old school foundational soul that I just love! The new ones are epic dopamine orchestras, which certainly has it's place in the modern world, but I just love the atmosphere and puzzle like level building in these old classics!

Endless Sky

Best recognize!

There ain't a bad word that should be spoken about this project. A classic. Play it for free, enjoy.

Knights of Honor II: Sovereign

A fun sandbox romp

This game is quite good, oh my I wish that it was great! It is strickly and big sandbox romp. If it were a smaller scale, with tighter mechanics, it would likely be epic. The combat could be elimated entirely, there could be a historical senario that reflects proper logistics and such. But! It's a vast sandbox adventure, nothing more nothing less. Very fun, and I am glad I dropped some time in it, but don't see the need to go too deep into this system.

ASYLUM

Voodoo Revival

Scratches was a game that arrived in an odd time in gaminghistory. The classic adventures were fading away as the modern graphics mixed with scare tactics were emerging.... It cut that fine line between the two.. leaving a relatively small fanbase blown away and praying for more titles to come. Then silence.. then there was a rumor.. of Asylum. Then like ten years of nothing blew up in our faces. I have read another review that brought up Duke Nukem Forever - this is absolutely true.... the fact that Asylum is here is a legit miracle! It is much clunkier than Scratches, but also much more bizarre. The fact that it is here at all is a miracle, and if you like old school adventure games, and especially if you even came within a ten foot pole of Scratches.. get this now! A true artistic oddity of the gaming world... an odd moment in time....!
