this game annoyes the crap out of me. While I like it and the whole idea I often felt bewildered when a tennant leavs. Also it always makes a sound like it was my fault even if there was no thing I could have done. But the one that drove me insane for long is the speed limit. It ruins so slow and waiting for a day to pass so I can built more is just annoying, I want to play a game not wait. For me this game could made by the electric company making you keeping the game on so they grab your money for electrical bills. I have no clue why else someone would built this speed limit. I mean in most games I wonder why a speed limit at all but most of them are explained with that it would be unplayable if any faster or that it was the highest speed you could expect at that given time, and they just didn't want to produce any potiential hazzards. But here there is no reason why, A PC of today could probably run the simulation of a day in a second.
Seriously don't buy THIS! It is the DOS version, don't ask me why because I don't know. Just go to ebay and buy the windows version, you will be amused to find that it runs under WIN10! I REAPET IT WORKS under Win10! The windows Version that was original for Win95! It runs without virtual machine! Without even compatibility mode and it runs in 4K! It actually is pretty good playable in 4k. With all sounds and with music, even the asset editor works perfectly fine!. But one warning, the installer does not run, you just have to copy the files manually since there is no copy protection and no registry entry needed it just runs like a charm!.
Now I actually own this game on steam, but at a sale I will get it for gog too (whish it was on gog earlier). Because that game is that amazing!. It just has a great humor, goog balancing. A ton of story and most of it more or less optional. I say more or less because you don't really want to miss it. Okay maybe not a good review but just buy it, it is great. I recommend this full price to everyone!.
I just remember always liking the scarfhulu Episode about it. And I don't know I just love those old FMV Point and Click games. And if you ask me, they could come back. I think they work really good together. This one especially, well except for the piss poor video quality. Man I whish we could get the original footage and redo this game because this one is awesome. I am pretty hooked with the story, while it is pretty in your face you kinda know who Trevor is, he could just imagine allot of this, does he imagine allot of this, or is everything as real as he thinks? Good character choice. Also the music is so fitting nealry all the time as far as I played, well except with the music in the office the first day. I whished it was more chilled the first day not that ominous. Pretty much kills the first day sort of. I absolutly recommend this game to everyone who likes those kinds of games.
This game is way more fun than it should be, probably because it is very satisfying to your inner cruel scientist and of course your primal instincts of mating and reproducing. I guess that it is, but it is probably more the cruel scientist. For how fun this game is you probably want ot hold of until it is 50% of, because there isn't that much. There should be expension packs with more genetical stuff, right now it is kinda somewhere at Spores level, just with more genetics. And without all the other stuff. Also the presentation is piss poor in terms of graphical fidelity. Seriously no animations? I understand that the head is not correctly atteached to the body, since it makes it easier to expand but no real animations? I am sorry but I can do it better with ease. But that would be easily patchable actually. Well now excuse me I have to go further with my incest studies.
Why didn't I played that one sooner. I always felt the artstyle was somehow not my taste but it totally is. It is an great artstyle. The way the story is told is just funny, the narrator never lost his welcome and the game is really short, well a playtrough is short, a playtrough in the sense that you played one story, but there are manies to tell. Now that is awesome if you work since you don't have time to play another big game besides the 5 you are playing right now, I know when you are young you play 60 games it once but you don't have the time anymore and this game totally fills up the shorter moments of boredome with a ton of fun.
Yes, the Gameplay is one of the worst I've seen. Just to clarify I know the age of the game and I am a big doom and wolfenstein fan. But while those games portrait the mood in the Gameplay, this ones is terrible, the graphics look dull and the level design is done with no passion to the craft of FPS. Now everything but the Gameplay is on point. You could make a movie out of the cutscene alone, I would watch that! The intro is great and the soundtrack as well, well unless you are in the game where there is no soundtrack. To me it looks like they wanted to do a point and click adventure but they where forced to do a first person shooter because it was hip at the time. But old shooter and western never really mixed that well together. If you ask me the a western fps is one of the things that really benefits from more advanced graphics like in "Call of Juarez - gunslinger". But even leaving that personal preference out the Gameplay still is abysmal. It is no rise of the triad it is not wacky nor atmospheric. It is just plain bad. So if you want my recommendation, leave this game and just watch the cutscenes on youtube because as I said, those where awesome!. And if you want to play a shooter, did you already play rise of the triad?
This game felt homely to me, it felt like those games I've got a glimpse on when I was at a friends house way back in elementary school. It is just a type of setting that flies under my radar for one reason or another. It also reminds me a bit of a children book called poppy and rye but mostly because it has mice, it also reminds me of the secret of nymh but still not quite the same, it only captures some of the charme. A feeling like this game can provide is very rare as far as I know but I just adore it. But there is more to adore than only the the vibes. It is a pretty game, a really, really pretty game. It is not up to the big AAA titles but very close except for one factor: THE CHARACTER MODELL! Holly Shit, the modell of the protagonist is just amazing. Not only is the style adorable because it is mostly real to life model instead of a cartoony model, but it is also smooth, has fur (man I really need to know how exactly the fur is made) and the animation is soo smooth and so diverse, sadly other characters don't seem to be animated just as smooth and you see them glitching trough walls with their halberd very often or slither over the ground. But after a long time I don't see the uglynees of gamemodels, which is hard for someone who makes characters for movie animation with blender, even if only as a hobby right now. I am pretty defied to remoddel our cute little protagonist. Another thing is that yes! You are the size of a mouse!. So be ware of spiders. The Story is pretty forgettable but written in a very fun way, I actually would recommend this game to a younger audience because they might really enjoy out even way more. But if you are children book lover like me you will have a blast. The only problem I see right now is that there is no voice acting. That kinda bothers me since it would really buff the game. I hope that will come eventually since it is still in beta. Also it is filled with bugs! Especially at the beginning! Blue bugs, red bugs, yellow bugs, green bugs!. Also if anyone knows how to make this fur in blender cycles, please let me know.
