This is more of a restored content mod than a rework as it really nails the mood and feel of original Diablo while subtly adding in enhancements. The Warmth suffix on gear that functions just as it does in Diablo 2 by slowly regenerating mana feels perfectly balanced. It is amazing just how well this game still holds up nearly 3 decades on, it was so substantially ahead of its time.
The original Diablo is a truly unique experience as it is simply much slower and more methodical than any of the games it spawned. From the perspective of 2025 it is almost a souls like in its unforgiving nature but when played in period it was simply wholy new and refreshing. Still a great time and well worth a look if you've never played it before. Give it a little time to get a feel for it and it'll thoroughly reward you.
With the exception of the rather rigid menus this title really holds up. The structure and balance is still just as good as it was in the early 2000's.
