Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory

One of the best oldies

Wolf ET and C&C Renegade were some of the best FPS to blaze through the PC markets. These were old school shooters which relied on tactics, skill, and tenacity - no quick scoping with a LMG for easy kills. More than anything else, it was the unrivaled chaos which made Wolf ET so addictive. Highly recommended for anyone who loves FPS, and it's free!

Kenshi

Brutal Fallout inspired samurai survival

Early game see's your squad dumped in a cruel sadistic world with no real direction and little understanding of the gruesome future awaiting many of your people. It's a brutal but unique game with ideas taken from genres like Mad Max and the early Fallout games. It's funny, confusing, fun, and frustrating. The game rewards with better tech and treasure as it advances but does require some investment of time. The area to explore is massive with many hidden gems containing stories and loot. With such a large and open world to explore or build bases on it's easy to miss the effort put into the smaller details, like how changing stats will actually change a character's physical appearance. I spent a large amount of time in the early stages of this game but found it a little lacking in endgame material. That said it's been a couple of years since I played so I'm looking forward to testing where it's up to. This game is for those who'd love to test out a Samurai survival version of the early Fallout games with base construction and resource gathering. I would've given Kenshi 4 stars but (in my eyes) the lack of achievements kicked it down to 3.
