Silverfall: Complete

A technical disaster

An arpg with Tab-targeting combat, character creation, Freeform builds and in-depth crafting? Basically an offline MMORPG with LAN coop? Sounds like my dream game!..well.. -Terrible interface -Terrible pathfinding, so bad even the enemies struggle with it -crashes all the time, especially when you switch zones -Enemies do the T-pose at the screens edge ... to assert dominance -level scaling enemies... seemingly without limit. -Enemies EVERYWHERE, it just becomes a chore -cookie cutter quests -the zones are pretty barren with no real landmarks, especially in the beginning -skills are either useless or OP , the skilltree bloated with passives -your character cant close his mouth... whats up with that? -nature vs technology alignment system that just cripples your equipment selection Ive tried many times to get into this game .. but its just terrible at every aspect.

Moros Protocol

Woops. My Bad.

Well, it covered the basics. Decent movement, melee attacks, dodge button, crit-zones on enemies, decent enough artstyle, an addicting gameplay loop.. It got the basics covered and its got coop?AWESOME! Could this be one of my favorite games of all time? But whats this... the coop is ONLINE ONLY, no LAN, no local coop ... yup the coop feature has a expiration date. I didnt inform myself properly. My bad. Thats what i get for giving the videogame industry the benefit of doubt one time. In a world filled with Abandonware, Emulation, Shareware, Freeware, decades worth of Mods ... giving you more games than one could possibly play in a lifetime FOR FREE, to anyone with two braincells and a stable internet connection (and thats excluding piracy!!). It will be just another ephemeral experience in an endless sea of singleplayer-only titles. Basically worthless in 2025. Ofc the dev has the opportunity to patch it in at anytime... but lets face it, doesnt happen. Never does... videogames are dead.

Kingdom Two Crowns

Boring and repetitive

+1 Star because no bugs and the client works +1 Star for Coop Youre playing a Horse with severe Asthma. You run either left or right , sometimes for minutes on end and press use on interactibles and wait for things to happen. Then hope you dont get overrun during nighttime by enemies...and thats it. Once you got the pattern down, the procedural generation adds nothing, every map plays out the exact same every time. Want a way better alternative? Go play the Majesty games.

Terraria

Clonk Rage is better

Well, i played the Clonk Series over 20 years ago and still do. Which is most likely the best 2D sandbox game ever made. So im not easily impressed. So about Terraria.. Having to build everything in detail, is more annoying than enriching, atleast in a 2D environment. More satisfying in 3d tho. Premades would be more favorable. Building shelter with specific conditions, unbeknownst to the player, to attract NPCs is also a questionable design choice. Despite making loads of money, enough to produce pointless Merch, the devs couldnt be bothered to improve their outdated spritework and frankly terrible music. Modders are doing are far better job, unpaid no less. Melee combat is craptastic, its even more shallow than Zelda 2 from1987. And endgame combat is just a screen filling fireworks, no depth whatsoever. Randomized loot is cool tho and there is a bunch of content. TL;DR : Go play Clonk Rage, its better, its free.

Fort Triumph

A must-have-Title for XCOM/HOMM Lovers

A charming Mix of both XCOM and Heroes of Might and Magic with an Torchlight-esque aestethic. Key Game aspects: -Combat: Interface and Core Combat mechanics very similar to XCOM, however it has equal emphasis on Melee and Ranged Combat, Heroes can level up during a fight, The Unique Feature is that Heroes and Enemies alike can use Cover and Obstacles to be manipulated by multiple abilities to either Damage, Stun, knock, pull, block the opposition sometimes with hilarious Chain Reaction Results. Heroes can also use different Inventory Items with different Effects some consumable , some permanent of varying rarity. -Overworld Map: There a currently 3 Environments, the Maps are Randomly Generated and similar to the HOMM series, complete with Forts, random events, Mines and Riches spread out the Map. With Monster Groups protecting either Loot or Mines. Similar to HOMM there is no Movement of Neutral Units, only enemy Players Traverse the Map. -City Building: The Building Management is a dumped-down Version of HOMMs Castles with only 3 ressources, 7 building slots (9 different buildings, 2 upgrades each). Winning Fights gets you renown which can be spent in the Hero Guild for further Hero Upgrades. -Customization/Heroes: Similar to XCOM the Units are composed of up to 5 Hero units rather than Unit stacks. Current visual Customization of Heroes includes Coloration only, they also come in different genders. Heroes can have a random unique trait of varying Rarity that can either be beneficial or unfavorable depending on the Combat situation. Heroes unsurprisingly gain Levels and can learn new abilities (chose 1 of 3 , varying rarity, even Cross-class) or power up their current ones. Currently there are 4 Classes in the Game , Paladin , Berserk , Ranger , Mage all with unique looks and abilities. -Modes: Campaign (Humans only) , Skirmish with up to 8 AI or Human Players, Local Co-op -Updates: Devs listen to the Community and plan further Content. Verdict: LOVE IT

Game Design is NOT rocket science

Volition, KAIKO and THQ Nordic. You all had ONE JOB.... ONE! ADD CHARACTER CREATION AND FULL COOP CAMPAIGN! you failed to impress me.

Caveblazers

Supbar

-Minimalistic pixel art, still fluid colofrul animation with a decent amount of frames -Music is forgetable -Randomized levels are decently varied and offer rewards aplenty -coop = AWESOME -bosses feel more like a gear check than anything else -melee combat is freaking godawful, youre never really in control, if you fight one more than one enemy at once you cant tell whats goin on and there is no way telling if youre goin to get hit or if it coudlve been avoided, basically melee as of now is useless, play ranged and stay safe -ranged feels solid, 8 direction firing and several weapon types that change the pace thats the game in a nutshell, if you dont care for the benefit of coop-play get dead cells instead.
