Sengoku Dynasty

Buggy, broken, unoptimised

An okay game ruined by lazy devs. I have a decent machine that runs AAA games, who rely on graphics to hide their lack of substance, with ease. So the fact that I keep getting random hardware lag shows how badly optimised this game is. I've also had a bug where my stamina is locked at 50% permanently, meaning I never run out, so combat is now trivial. The GOG icon that pops up in game (achievements, notifications, etc) looks like those graphical crashes from the 90s when a game bugged so hard it became glorious technicolour. The game will crash for no reason. It'll freeze on load at random (flip a coin each time you load to see if you actually do), and since the last update the game ONLY freezes and crashes. Thank god that patch came out, adding Chinese localisation. For a minite there I thought they were going to add something useful to those of us they already scammed out of our money.

Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition

Poorly balanced

No matter what class I take, or where I go, every single side quest has me fighting 20 enemies who 1 shot my tank. I ran as a Human Cavalier with a 93 roll during creation, decked in the best armour I can get at level 1 and I'm just not able to make progress. It's boring. Would rather play Morrowind, or something else where putting effort into your character is rewarding rather than arbitrarily difficult.

The Last Spell

Dopamine fix; the game.

Game has it all, as advertised. RPG mechanics for the heroes including Perks (which expand the more you play and unlock new trees). Weapon variety that goes beyond simple "this hammer is basically the same as the sword except blunt", no it's a totall different weapon with a totally different play style. The magic weapons are fun, and the dagger/hand crossbows with the poison talents are filthy good fun. I don't normally buy games like these (hero tactic games) but I am getting into Roguelites, and this one was so good I got the Dwarf DLC which adds 3 totally new weapons and a whole other race. There's a surprising amount of complexity and stratergy to be found in team compositions beyond tank, mage, archer; and the same can be said of each character's build. Weapons define skills, but perks, armour, and the stat buffs from level ups define how the character will use those weapons. Run a dagger in the mainhand, a handcrossbow in the offhand, then focus on poison damage, perks, and the like and suddenly you've got an assassin build that's dropping entire corners of the map.

Warhammer: Chaosbane

Kinda Boring

"Champions" have WAY too much health, so you just sit and spend like 5 minutes using the same 2-3 skills trying to wear them down and OOPS they just healed back like 90 seconds worth of damage. Guess you're gonna have to spam the same 2-3 skills again. Outside of that it's okay I guess. It's a warhammer licensed game, so expect anything outside of the Total War or Dawn of War games, to be dross.

Jupiter Hell

Not Terrible

Chose to refund it because it kept crashing using the recommended Vulcan Engine. Outside of that, it's a functional and okay game. I just don't like owning things which break when used in the recommended way.

Vaporum

Lazy, BS combat

Stopped playing after the 5th time I cleared an area, got into a fight and tried to back peddle only for a mob to spawn behind me and trap me in a spitroast. This is not difficult combat, this is lazy BS combat by a dev who doesn't understand the difference between well-made combat mechanics and clever enemies and just spawning trash in behind you without warning. Never reviewed again before but felt so passionately irritated by this trash that I felt I had to warn others that this is the low level of "challenge" you can expect.
