This is a fun game but also very very difficult. The early game is especially grindy. In the early game you can't win any fights so you cant get xp to get better at fighting and you cant get valuable items to sell. The game needs a Story Mode. I was going to quit since I refuse grind away at alchemy but then I used the cheat system and gave myself some money. This let me buy armour and skill books so I could start winning fights, then I never needed the cheat system again. Quests are complicated and many are almost impossible without using online guides. All that being said, I played 160 hours and finished the story. I enjoyed it very much.
After trying to play the nightmare of Soviet Republic, High Rise City was a wonder and a joy. It can be a little buggy but nothing showstopping. Like any city builder, its complicated. But this one mostly makes it easy to just do what you want to do. It does get a little grindy as the city gets big.
I played it all the way through. A couple bugs but nothing critical. My main complaint is that it is too long. There are 3 campaigns, Asia, Egypt, Gaul. They all play the same way so it gets boring. 2 campaigns would have been enough.
Excellent game. Rail sims are hard. Hard to play, hard to develop. All the ones I played before were bug ridden, logistic nightmare, micromanageing time killers with no joy. Rail Gard found the balance. It's not an easy game per se, but it lets you focus on the puzzle challenge of setting up routes without all the artificial obstacles of other rail sims. The campaign is fun and funny. It has very well done difficulty levels, Timed, Untimed, and unlimited cash. My go to is Untimed with limited cash requiring economy development. No Bugs! It did crash on me once in 76 hours of play but it came back to the same spot in the game. Good autosave on crash.
It won't start. It complains about needing DX feature 12_0. I tried a different computer and got past the 12_0 problem only to get stopped at shader 6.6. Don't bother with this unless you have a new high end system. This is some major lazy developer BS. This is a city buidler not a real time MMO. We don't need to see the hair in the wart on a citizens nose.
It's a classic 4x with some new and interesting twists. The court intrigue is fun. It's not a simple game but the complexity is well supported by the interface. I appreciate the multiple difficulty level settings. I found no bugs which seems miraculous. But the interactions between many of the parameters were confusing. I played a long campaign now I'm taking a break. I look forward to coming back and doing some of the DLC.
