Mechanicus presents an excellent tactics game in the vein of the newer X-Com games. It presents a tight, though provoking tactical experience without any RNG bullshit (aside from slightly variable damage values). Ben Counter writes an awesome story with excellent central characters (the tech priests all look AMAZING) with dialogue being the highlight. Technically, it is super solid (some people report an issue with beam weapons, but I personally never experienced this) The soundtrack is really unique, and welcome. It's really nice to see a developer create a game that isn't total shovelware with the Warhammer 40k license. It's all too easy to go "look, Space Marines, no more effort required, right?" I'm looking forward to sequels / future games.
