This little gem of a game is really worth your time with great gameplay, enchanting music, and amazing atmosphere in PixelJunk Shooter. You find your ship floating deep under a alien planet with stranded co-workers to rescue and hostile enemies to avoid or shoot reminding me a bit of Lunar Lander. The graphics and artwork are also stellar and pure eye candy. The game has a very laid back feeling but there are tense moments like the awesome looking bosses that require some thinking to take down. The soundtrack is just fantastic as well by High Frequency Bandwidth that really sets the mood and gets the blood pumping. The controls with the keyboard and mouse will take some getting used to or use a controller both work great. If you want a fun fast and/or unique game this is one to check out.
If you are a fan of melee combat, Norse Mythology, Vikings, and monsters this is the game for you. The Single player gameplay is pretty solid with some areas more memorable than others and a bit wonky camera but the story is very engrossing from one Viking who has to go through Niflheim and back with great enemy designs in this dark brutal world. But the real star is the Multiplayer which has everything from player content to solid maps that are fun to fight and throw weapons at others. The hours will spirit away as you play fun deathmatches that can test your skills and timing that reminds me of the old days of Quake and Unreal Tournament it is just pure fun. This game is something you should try hands down that should be remembered instead of swept aside, a hidden gem like the developers other game Prey.
While I am not normally one to write review, and my first one here, I feel compelled to talk about this incredible game that never really got a chance to shine in the spotlight, Journeyman Project 2: Buried in Time. To people who never heard of Journeyman Project this unique game has: A very funny AI that references Monty Python, time bending and mind testing puzzles, and a misguided villain who has seen the darkside of humanity. While the cut-scenes are a bit cheesy same with the dialog, and the graphics have not aged well, its still worth your time with a mystery that will keep you guessing to the end, so jump through the time portal and find your adventure! Also check out the rest of this series even if it took a bit of a nosedive in the last one.
