That game is not perfect, but is quite unique. I play in 1.1.3 and see some flaws well identified by other reviews : - not a real simulation (Kerbin is way smaller than RL Earth) , - "science" is only some clicks and relies essentially on exploring more zones, - when something explodes finding out why and how to avoid it, - Tech tree is very fun at first, but almost fully researched when getting into interplanetary flights hence lowering the fun of going forward - To progress in the game at some point, you'll need Excel worksheets or ingame mods (it's rocket science, remember ?) - Aerodynamics are too simple for planes (but work for rockets) BUT - You will get a taste of rocket science and space exploration (I'd never watch real ISS/Soyuz video but for having played that game) - You will have to use your brain solving design problems either empirically (a lot of retries), or getting documented and starting to do the math (ingame wiki, ingame tutorials, online guide and videos). - You'll explode a lot a things and make hilarious mistakes : - decoupling boosters at the launch anyone - celebrate your first kerbal in orbit, then figure out he just can't get back on the ground - You'll understand why those previous mistakes are fun ... And I don't know of any other game to do so.
