In spite of being a non-party based RPG this mirrors the interactivity with the people, environments and choices that graced the Ultima series, yet retained the glorious ARPG mechanics from Diablo, also it's great to note that there's even a karma-type system as with the fallout series whereas everyone is attack-able, and people react to your good, and bad deeds over time! If you are a fan of these games you owe it to yourself to get this game already!
It's 2017! WHERE'S THE RE-BIND-ABLE KEYS!? Looks great, but it's yet another developer that hates key rebinds/lazy console port!, as there's no way to change them, which is idiotic for such a game that relies heavily on precision and only lists the stupid controller's keys instead! -3 stars for that alone! (I'm not certain if I have to unplug it in order to get the Keyboard prompts though, as I don't want to restart my PC just to get my stinking controller back on player one!) However, it's really incredible how you can zoom from out in space to pin-point cities, and when the buildings crash there's amazing details of first responders, the screams and of people running along with seeing them scatter, and cars speeding away! So the gameplay's there, but it's ruined by the controller/lack of rebinds! Unfortunately most of the game relies on precision in both flight and shooting the small red targets on the aliens so being stuck with a controller makes the game-play suffer a LOT as trying to steer with the Right stick and aim while shooting fast moving targets is crap sans aim assist; plus you move so fast that you end up getting disoriented as you're too damn close to even see/hit them! Unless they patch in rebind-able keys then I'll just end up shelving this game; it is simply unplayable for me, as the keyboard/mouse is far superior for this type of genre anyways, however, if this was top-down/isometric 3rd person like Hob, then this would work well with a controller... So to sum up, if you're a person that plays a lot of FPGames with a controller or you use the default keys, (which are a mystery as they're not even shown during the tutorial) then knock yourself out, there's a lot that looks and plays real nice if you can use them, but for me, it's a deal-breaker, 'cept I already bought it! :P TL;DR: Great high-precision game that is crippled by limited control flexibility, if they patch in rebinds, then it's a 5-star from me!
I am taking a star off due to both the wretched and horrible voice-work/localization, and the absence of re-binds for the Keyboard/mouse, though it's not a deal-breaker as this is great with a controller! I wish European developers/publishers would QUIT using North American localization and stick with their fellow Europeans like the UK/domestic voice option instead, hell, the UK speaks much better English anyways as the idiotic 1990-'00's yuppy colloquialisms are vomit inducing and make me want to punch a lion in the cranberries; in spite of it being geared for children as even animaniacs was much better than this!! (The ratio of North American displaying exemplary voice-work are usually 75-90% with domestic titles, with only 10-25% of non domestic titles...) However, if you can get past this, I would say that this is a must-buy for the mascot themed platformer-starved as the graphics are gorgeous, the controls are tight, and the gameplay/level design keeps the mind active by having hidden boxes, crates and the like to hunt for, it's really an excellent game for the price! Can't wait to see more from this company!
