This game is NOT perfect, the AI is dumb as hell, the engine is outdated (and was even then), the resolution is terrible comparative to other games. What it does have going for it though? It's pure fun. Think of it as DOOM mixed with Metal Slug, the graphics definitely give that vibe, it plays well for what it is, and it's an absolute blast to play through; arcade style games like this one have a story, but the main point is "shoot em 'till they're dead", and man does it do that really well!
BUY THIS NOW! DUSK is an amazing shooter that runs on the potato-est of machines, an excellent throwback to games of the '90s, and still manages to be better than 85% of the new games released now...Also the devs are hella cool...Play some DUSKWORLD with us all, we hunt down Dave, muahahah.
This game is definitely a must buy alongside DUSK...The devs actually give a damn, and do a damn good job as well; Think hexen or quake (mostly hexen) but done now instead of 20 years ago...Do yourself a favor and spend the money, I bought mine on steam, but come payday.....these are all mine on GoG as well :D
Not sure why people are mad about this game, been waiting since launch to grab it, did, and feel great about it. It's oozing that 80's neon gorgeousness of sci-fi movies, and it's like some of those startrek episodes when I land on some planets! Plays good, full of things to do as long as you like exploration and have patients, and the ships are thoughtfully designed. Sure there's no multiplayer, but I could really care less about that anyway, with updates this could be the perfect game, I mean, it's already better than Elite: Dangerous. Sure the game holds your hand, sure you can't crash into anything and die, and sure, if you manage to die you can get all your things back; but that's hardly the point. Play the game guys, and appreciate it for what it is, A light friendly romp through the galaxy seeking out new forms of life and fabulosity.
Ok, so my friend has this DLC for the game, and I'm going to buy it when I actually get a free moment, this makes it more like MOO series of games, especially since you can make stuff on a planet now (Ever thought "wow the CPU is stupid, I could wreck them"? Good, now you can)! I can plainly see where this makes the grind a bit less....grindy, and brings the original game from 3 to 4.5 stars! Buy this with TLF, you can't go wrong there, especially in a sale.
Crimsonland...ah what a classic, I played the original a long time ago and it was pretty neat; now I picked this up on the sale, and it's a fantastic shooter, so much so that I bought it on iPad/iPhone as well. Crimsonland is a shooter that exhibits the purity of the genre: Gore, Violence, and Kill everything that moves. There isn't whole much more to the whole game so please don't expect it to be the next CoD or Aliens title, more of a "Minigore" before it was actually a thing. go ahead and spend your 2-10 dollars on this classic while it's here, it's pretty cool AND you get the classic (works in wineskin btw) and the remake here works on Mac and PC! The only flaw is that the game eventually has a final level...and good god is it hard.
