It's visually appealing, easy to get into, not too much micro managing, and lastly focuses in an XCOM kind of way with tactical battles that are very enjoyable. You can pan AND spin the battle field before committing your soldiers to move/attack. This is the turn based 4X I was hoping for. Worth it and a real bargain when on sale.
It has progression, sea based side type battles which isn't that much of a stretch to get used to and makes fighting a lot of ships more manageable, a decent choice of missions if you want to pick any of them (not required to progress). It's fun, it does have a Freelancer feel to it without being a cheap knock off and it plays tight with no bugs. If you're looking for a space captain game with the elements I've mentioned that is a nice solo experience, take a look.
The water looks amazing at night and the fish are really colorful. I found (online) that a good choice for hooks and bait is around a 3/0 hook and Cutbait and Redworms (both on that hook) with a bobber and about 24 inches of lead would give me a nibble in a pretty short time. This is a fairly priced DLC that adds another interesting place to fish, really enjoying the area even when it gets up to 111 F.
So good, I've bought it twice. The areas are beautiful, the fish are modeled realistically, the dev is active and responsive. I've never played a fishing simulator I liked more than this one. He's adding reasonably priced DLC which only adds more value, similar to what dying light did. I bought their DLC too. TL;DR? Great game, worth it at full price, a steal on sale.
I never ran into any bugs. I think it's interesting to play a game made in a country other than the US, it gives the game a fresh feeling despite being about a topic that's got a lot of games made about it. I expect to get many hours of fun out of this game.
Only H-L 2 (another old game) and the Witcher 3 (surprise! a recent game) has this level of intensity. You really feel like you're fighting ACTUAL Nazis. The game gives you a lot of freedom to move around and tasteful female nudity (the only nudity that matters). Buy it, you won't regret it.
I've been playing this game for a bit over 160 hours now. I even re-bought it here on GOG because I'm trying to wean myself off the other platform. The game is compleletly open world exploratory fun. You can do suggested mission and they have the mini map showing the way if you do ( l love a marker showing me where to go to be honest). I'm almost to the end of the game and was surprised that even tho I've been playing it on the other platform, GOG somehow got my saves over here and I didn't even need to copy them...(magic? or just clever programming?) The story is compelling and the spoken dialog, while not ALWAYS great, sometimes is EPIC. Without spoilers, there were some conversations that were super funny and exuded character (nice job on a lot of those voice actors, it really makes a difference). WIthout spoilers there are companions that you can have join you and they are decent DOTS (damage over time) helpers that definately help you feel you're not alone as you wander around. I've played skyrim for over 300 hours (after adding a lot of modding options), 160+ in this game (still not done) with no modding (not sure you can do a lot of modding sadly.) There are some minor glitches here and there (stuttering if you have a companion stand near an edge, that kind of thing), nothing game breaking and the game does a GREAT job of saving every 3 minutes so even if you do something horrific you don't need to be a save scummer to save yourself pain. I wish the dancing girl you run across eventually in the game was a little less clovered up, but you can't have everything. This game has, progression, skill trees, MAGIC, LOTS of weapon choices (mele/ranged/bow/guns), crafting, gathering, exploration, romance (light, I wish it was more developed and game impacting somehow, but some is better than none), great scenery/lighting, monsters and humans look realistic, moral choices, and lastly no rage inducing bullsh*t to annoy you. tl;dr HIGHLY recommened
