The game runs silky smooth, the visuals are clean and realistic considering the poly non-textured way they are presented. The lockpicking is a nice change of pace from the usual. The skill tree allows you to build the character the way you like it. Fast traveling allows for extended fun either in town or in dungeons, then zip back to make potions, craft, etc. It's so good, I look up and an hour has zipped by. Thanks for putting the game on GOG, I only get games here now.
Normally I just suck at games like this, but this one is not only fun, it keeps being fun as I continue to play it. The game is easy in, easy out for quick play and doesn't require a lot of thought on "where was I" when you restart the game. It's both attractive and nice to listen to, I like the sound effects of the game mechanics. No matter what game I generally turn off music. This is a game I'll be playing for a while. Thanks for putting it on GOG, other wise I wouldn't have bought it.
Pros: So many things to do, fishing, cooking, farming crops, scavaging, fighting Mobs are varied by have attack patterns you can learn Mele fighting AND range combat that feels quite good Death is only a minor setback (very minor) Graphics are good, mobs look good, no bugs Very addictive and fun gameplay Cons: I quit this game shortly after buying it quite a while ago because I hated the mouse movement. BUT then I came back to the game and they added camera views for LEFT and RIGHT which you can ALSO key map as your S and F keys so you can mostly face the direction you're moving with little difficulty. So while movement WAS a huge con for me, once I mapped the camera view keys, it's close to perfect.
Pros: 1) It's fun and I can dial it down so I'm not totally sucking at it. 2) It has a LOT of progression so you can choose your build and work towards it. 3) It has a decent amount of weapons that you can customize for affect AND look. 4) It has ENDLESS side missions so you can save up for the upgrade/weapon you want. 5) It's got enough stress that I get mad when I get killed, but not so much I rage quit LOL. 6) Not afraid to show big breasted females (no faces, but...) in skimpy outfits as bkgrnd NPCs. 7) Voice acting is GREAT. Who knew warhammer universe was in Australia? LOL 8) Graphics/visuals/backgrounds characters etc, very nice and you can adjust lots of settings. 9) VERY immersive, you feel like you're on a hive planet. I play it everyday. 10) You can pet the dog. 11) Even if you fail the side missions, you'll still get some loot/money so you can progress! Cons: 1) Even at easy it's hard for me on the side missions but see 11) above. Most fun I've had in a long time. I'm an older gamer, I remember buying pong and attaction it to my TV. This game is still a lot of fun for me, not as fast twitch as I use to be, notwithstanding. tl;dr: Buy it, it's fun.
The game has a interesting story that is worth playing which helps familiarize yourself with the mechanics of the game while at the same time being vaguely heartwarming animal killing not withstanding. They use the term harvesting and while that’s a little initially jarring in the cosmic scheme of things since you’re only hunting for purpose of feeding people if you’re doing the story it’s not gratuitous. Don’t listen to those people saying the graphics are bad, the graphics are God tier, I have a 3090 and I have almost everything to ultra and it is photo realistic, water is great, the sky is great, clouds indicate the way the wind is blowing, foliage is amazing, the animals are amazing. The story gives you tasks that usually involve hunting a particular animal so you always feel like you’re moving towards a goal. I have to force myself off to take a break it’s that much fun.
I like how this guy gets it, after all the fighting and struggles, a man likes to come home to his woman/wife to have a happy ending. Thanks for putting this on GOG, I look forward to more DLC and new games from your team. Keep up the good work.
I don't play VNs and while this game isn't a VN, it's a bit like one but here's where it's different. Random events, RNG depending on what you're wearing/skills you choose/weapon/whether you're virtuous or wicked the determine dialog/event outcomes. It uses the weapons and descriptions of gear to make you feel like you're really playing in that time frame as you equip yourself to do battle. It has 4 difficulty modes to choose from: Story, normal, hard, HWR (very hard). I play story because I prefer the small difficulty and stress reduced playstyle it gives. The artwork is very nice and the UI is serviceable. It has a nice tutorial mode and there's lots of help text. tl;dr It's fun and as hard as you want to make it.
I played this a lot, more than 50 hours easy, but I never expanded past the first 4 or 5 areas because I liked growing my own weed and not having to worry about police dogs. It does indeed have a game loop! Buy seeds, grow weed, package the weed, sell the weed to individuals or dealers you hire who'll sell it for you. Buy more seeds (hehe you must continue to buy seeds to grow once you've harvested (the plants look nice as they grow). If this had more to do with your money it'd be a game I played all the time, and by more to do I mean strip clubs with at least topless females and other forms of recreation. The game has drugs, but no sex. heh. Still it's fun and unlike a lot of games I've taken a break from, is still on my computer.
For a change, I'm able to play an AOW game and have fun. Pros: Save game at ANY TIME including in the middle of a battle! (Let's you quit when you need to go) Graphics are great Sound is great Click to go to a far away location? Easy to click "continue" to let it move you along to end location DOES NOT force you to move first in battle to give the AI advantage (SINGLE BEST FEATURE IMO) At the end of the battle it gives you the option to try that battle again Tech is neat You can rotate the screen at anytime DLC is OPTIONAL ! I'm playing vanilla and LOVING IT There is limited amounts of "cuteness" to some of the mobs and the way they move (Ignorable) Cons: It's got a lot of depth that I'm slowly getting the hang of but so far isn't causing me issues Thanks for making and selling the game on GOG. I won't buy games anywhere other than GOG. Why? I bought Conan Exiles on steam and used to be able to play it offline. WITHOUT my consent, they changed the game to require online always! UFB, I've not used steam since. Bless you GOG
Pros: 1) Many levels of difficulty, I'm old, I play on easy 2) Loot, lots of it 3) Change class by changing weapons 4) Visuals are pretty good 5) Voice acting is top notch 6) Quests are endless 7) Feels a bit like WoW-lite, but no monthly fees and pause the game at any time 8) Lots to do, crafting different things, exploring, completing quests, leveling Cons: 1) I'd would have liked the casting to be a tiny bit faster 2) I'd would have liked their to be more attractive females wandering around (hehe) 3) The mobs are ok but not great looking, still ok tho I'm glad I got this game, I'm going to recommend it to my bro too.
