I like the idea of sims, I usually just don't enjoy playing them. I am enjoying playing this one. It has just the right amount of optional handholding I like and a lot of freedom to set things up. The "what can go in which tank" mechanic is both realistic and gives the game some complexity but not an overwhelming one. Pros: Looks good, no bugs, chill, you can zoom WAY in to actually look at the fish Cons: Nothing worth mentioning.
Pros: - A top-notch tutorial helps you get started. - You can ride the rides, even the ones you make - Career mode or sandbox options - Build a flat ride from scratch, you can also build roller coasters like most games but this one has a new option for non-roller coaster rides - Clever use of research to allow for varied park progression - Very deep decoration options, almost everything can be modified (walls, floor, corridors, RIDES, etc) - Space bar to pause (as it should be) - Bug free in my playing Cons: - No undo, but it's easy to use your saves as a way to recover if you care to - No tutorial for building a flat ride from scratch. It has no helper popups either, so it's either trial and error or watch a video (I mostly figured out by trial and error but still don't fully understand the motors, I'll have to watch a video LOL) - While you can ride the rides once they're put down, you CAN'T ride flat rides AS YOU'RE MAKING THEM, but it does have multiple cameras and you can pan around - If the park gets dirty it tells you, but I can't see where it's dirty, so I clean everything with their magic cleaning wand (it's a good time filler anyway, and while the sound isn't that good, the bubbles are soothing) It's a keeper for me, thanks for putting it on GoG
This game is fun for the following reasons: 1) No friendly fire when using spells to make you rage 2) Help text and more help text to figure out what the effects do before you choose one 3) 5 levels of difficulty (I started on normal but am on easy now as I learn the game) 4) It has voice acting here and there and it's AAA quality. It's mostly text thereafter but the writing is top notch, at no point do lose immersion. 5) It has randomness in the following ways, the Nodes can be different, what happens at the nodes can be different and mobs can be different. Only the map (which is very nice, stays the same in a second run) 6) The mobs all look impressive and the animation both in moving and attacking is very good. 7) There is randomness via cards to give you a chance to win or lose a story choice but losing isn't game over and winning won't be overpowered (just satisfying) 8) You can take a move back unless the mob does something reactive (in the event you change your mind) 9) The game gives you a percent to hit and 100 means 100 10) There is overwatch for the archer and it's the best implementation I've ever seen. Once on "vigil" (overwatch) if ANY mob moves or even ALL mobs move, he/she shoots at them 11) The portrait art is great, you unlock more members to choose from as the game progresses I'm very happy with my purchase, thanks GoG for selling it and thanks devs for making it.
That means, even if the story doesn't appeal to you, walking over to any character and making them strip, dance, other things, service you, without her even LIKING you is great. Get a girl to follow you, take her clothes away, open the door and watch her embarrassment. It's worth it for the fun you'll have being a god in the game. You can even command girl x to do girl y etc. Enjoy
I pondered getting this game for a while, it seemed interesting but I wasn't sure. I finally broke down and got and played it for several hours straight and those hours just blinked by. My only grips is I'd like a little better tutorial on what some of the objects are. Yes......I figured it out eventually and without looking it up....but I'm used to being spoon fed ! hahaha Anyway, if you're looking for a turnbased space themed game that won't be finished quickly and challenges you to PAY ATTENTION, this is a good choice. I will be playing this nightly.
The tutorial is pretty good and not hokie like some of them are. You feel like you're actually moving in a story as the game teaches you how to play. It's early access but it's playable now and fun RIGHT NOW. Do yourself a favor and get it.
tl;dr ? There were some bugs I ran into (not persistent ones, I think I brought it on myself by doing stealth and going the wrong way when it was trying to teach me a skill) but the story telling, voice acting, character visuals, SCENERY visuals are so great I have to force myself off every day. Pros: There are so many ways to customize your build that the replay value is hard to calculate. I am having a lot of fun exploring and picking up items I see here and there which I can either sell or use for crafting. It has mechanics in it that I've never seen before that really make you feel like you're in the future. I'm going to make sure to hang on another 50 years just in case. I'm going to focus on side missions as I level up as I'm in no hurry to try to blow through this game. I can't wait for the modders to step in and add that special touch that makes games like this extra fun (if you catch my drift, wink wink nudge nudge, say no more). This is a game that others will find faults with just to complain. I got a 3080 and new computer in anticipation of this game and have zero regrets. Don't believe the haters. It's good and will only get better. Never forget ( I haven't ) when wow first launched, you couldn't even loot the mobs. There are no bugs in the this game REMOTELY as annoying. Thanks devs for making this game.
tl;dr It's fun & they're still updating it (as of Dec 2020), I've been playing it for hours on end & find it very engaging. Pros: - Visuals are top notch, zooming in & out is awesome, from close inspection all the way to viewing the entire planet. The symbolic tags the game shows you of your buildings when you're in between those two views makes you feel like you really have the ability to get the big picture & drill down - HIGH quality voice acting for the voices I've heard so far (3 or so), there is no immersion breaking conversations you hear as people talk to you the AI & you respond back - Great sound effects for the UI, events, & construction, the music is a bit (to me) monotonous so I have that off - I'm not that far into the campaign, the colonists are almost to mars to land at the spaceport I've built & I've been preparing the way, everything feels so epic. Elon should check this game out for tips - The learning curve for what to do is not unreasonably hard (on normal) because the campaign guides you, but you'll need to be smart & pay attention as you take the guidance on what to build next or be prepared to deconstruct to get components you needed first Cons: - If you're not paying attention, you might have to deconstruct a building to get back resources you need to make a different building & it's a minor hassle to do so but you get back what you spent (component wise) to make them - Without the campaign I'd be pretty clueless on what to do & I'm thinking a more ABC tutorial might be welcome especially if made optional rather than have the campaign be a bit of tutorial - I'd like to tap a resource (as listed in a row at the bottom of the main screen) & have it highlight the building(s) that produce it in a slightly more fluid way - The game's like maintaining spinning plates (what to build, what priority, etc). as such it's a challenge. Some might be upset if they're not prepared to plan before pulling the trigger on a building's erection
