BIg Pharma must utterly adore this programee. Edward Jenner is a name that every med school graduate is indoctrinated with, you can find his story of 225 years of these PROGRAMS on wikipedia where he is lauded as the greatest hero who has pretty much ever lived! EVER WONDER if there is another side to the story, one you have been deliberately withheld from learning by the mainstream & alt media? Take a wild guess who owns those industries? Then connect the dots! YOU CAN still use one of the greatest research machines ever created to do some actual knowledge gathering. If you are honestly hungry for truth!
This, along with their follow up title INTO THE BREACH are known as the King & Queen of both RNG Strategy (FTL) and Non - RNG Strategy (Into the Breach). Either of them can run on an utter potato (so think any tablet or phone with a few tweaks), and yet provide countless dozens of hours of very polished gameplay. There is one major MOD for FTL that is considered FLT2, and of coarse it is FREE. These games are known as classics in the gaming industry for a reason, makes me start to think there just may be something to this current Dwarf Fortress craze on Steam, haha! Well I am a game pro, I have to check them all out eventually :) THIS IS A MUST HAVE for any collection that involves strategy, same with the later game ITB. I highly recommend! Funny too because when I first tried it on my Xbox pass I was slightly unimpressed. Silly, as this is a gem, and I had even played some of the board games decades ago (as a youth/child) that this is based on.
In MOST/many respects is a far better title than 3, 4 or 76! A true RPG where almost everything is able to be befriended or killed. Patched to near perfection out of the box, with MODS (some of them as big as the base game) that can give you hundreds of hours of play with completely new content. With a hundreds ways (mods) to change the base game which can already be played in 100 different ways out of the box, the replay-ability of such a title is part of why it is known as such a classic. Triple A company that has produced a triple A product. It is a part of gaming history! So if you are wondering if this should be in your library, you really should be wondering WHY it is out of your library. Get it, and get the BEST copy! You know where you are, it is why you are in these forums :)
Ok, something is screwy here! If I buy the game and DLC separate it costs LESS than if I buy the deluxe version. FIRST RED FLAG. Second red flag is that this DLC is only cosmetics, and a few small assets like the digital comic book and mp3. So you have a DLC that COSTS MORE THAN THE BASS GAME, and to top it off contains ZERO new content (just fluff), and yet IS RATED HIGHER THAN THE BASE GAME ?????? Base game is rated at 4.2/5 and DLC or DELUXE VERSION is rated at 4.4+ So please GOG, fix your rating system for this title, because OBVIOUSLY something is broken in this system. ON THE PLUS SIDE< if you figure this out, you KNOW which is the best version to buy of the game (with ease), and the game is one of the FEW games on GOG with a functioning multiplayer (according to the game description on the home page) that is also an excellent action title! If anyone knows differently here about the multiplayer please PM me and I will change this review (or delete it and repost as we all know how GOG can be with needing a forum upgrade soon).
Game clocks in @2Gb in the vanilla version and can run on an absolute potato. Comes with a Fan Made DLC that is just as good as the base game (chronicles_of_myrtana_archolos). That doubles the content right off the hop. I am playing the New Balance Fall2022 Mod with Full English translation. I am also using 4K textures. My game install folder is 23Gb. So on my I7 with 1070Gfx I am playing with all settings on maximum and NPC spawn range at 10000. The game flows smooth as butter as this IS the best version of the game to date. It is basically like the 20th anniversary edition remake. The only imperfect thing is that all the additional VOICE dialogue beyond the vanilla game is in russian...yet that is a small price to pay for such an enormous amount of mod work that has been done! So like the title says, only paid a couple bucks for this on sale, and there is a couple hundred hours of content with ease in this classic!
Absolutely incredible game...booted it up in 2022 and right out of the box it functions FINE in 4k. ZERO crashes so far! When this game out 18 years ago I would of been utterly blown away by how good it is! Even here all these years later I am still very very impressed! The only thing I may have to find a little bit of a fix for is the small text and UI...yet everything else seems flawless so far! Really superb release...I have heard that the sequels are trash in compare, so I am GLAD I went with this one. Could play it on a potato of coarse, which is also one of the reasons I bought it, if I want to run it on my Win10 Pro 32 bit Insignia tablet! I have seen in a review that the expansions are missing? So I will re-visit this review to comment on that later as best I can when I have more information! Most of you people pure hate this release because you say it won't function on Intel Int. WELL HOW ABOUT THE FIX FOR THE FALLOUT 3 VERSION WHICH HAS THE SAME ISSUE PRETTY MUCH. I am pretty sure this will work if you can get this to run on Linux, then you can program Win-doze to think different about the card as well (hopefully) just like for fallout3
