Lacuna - Soundtrack
Description
The Save the World Edition includes Lacuna and the game’s atmospherical soundtrack that lets you dive deep into the sci-fi noir world of Lacuna. In addition, Assemble Entertainment donates 10% of the revenues of this edition to Go Give One; a WHO initiative that provides COVID-19 vaccines for everyone, everywhere – prioritizing those who need them the most in countries that cannot afford them. On top of this, it’s the best option for all those who would like to support the work of the developer of Lacuna even more and do something good at the same time.
The free demo version of Lacuna – A Sci-Fi Noir Adventure is available on GOG.COM. You can download it here
Another cigarette tumbles into the abyss. The sun is slowly coming up,
glistening in the sea of buildings below.
I look up at the stars one last time before they disappear.
They don't provide any guidance. They don't give a f*ck.
I have to make this decision on my own, and very soon. Problem is, I don't know how.
I've never been able to figure out why I do what I do. Not really.
No more time to think. I have to go.
Here’s the deal
You are Neil Conrad, CDI agent. Awoken by the news of a murder, you rush into a case that will soon turn your life and the whole solar system upside down. Ask questions, collect evidence, and put the pieces together until the ugly truth reveals itself... or not.
No takebacks
The story branches and ends based on your actions. There's no going back. Sure, you can rush your way to the end – if you don't mind paying the price. Play your cards right, and you might make it out alive.
How far will you go?
Some questions don't have a right answer. Will you sell out a friend to protect your family? Will you endanger a loved one in exchange for public safety? Will you keep the peace or reveal the horrible, world-shattering truth?
Hungry for Point & Click Adventure?
While the classics were great in their time, Lacuna does away with the baggage of many adventure game tropes:
Pointing & clicking Platformer movement controls (WASD / controller)
Selecting all dialog options one by one anyway Non-repeating conversations and choices
Inventory management and counter-intuitive puzzles Immersive, story-driven mysteries
Pixel hunting Optional outlines on anything interactable
Story grinds to a halt at every puzzle can always be driven forward
"x will remember this" Real choices and multiple endings

When I started the game one morning, I didn't suspect I would play till the end of the strory in the afternoon. The characters are great, the music if enchanting and the pixel art beautiful.
Good job and thank you for the "voyage" ;-)
I played again the game to try other choices and discover new aspects of the story and characters.
You should definitely try this game and support the studio who did this beautiful gem !
For my part, I'll follow them and their future creations.
Before I get into the negative I will list the positive
-Great Soundtrack
-Great Artwork
Now the bad.
- Hit, or miss voice acting
- Audio has some really bad hiccups sometimes
- No skippable cutscenes combined with very uneccessary walking sequences you also can't skip
- Most decisions don't really affect the game
- Decisions that do impact the game aren't very clear sometimes and are seemingly random
- No ability to reload saves
- Every Character is unmemorable and is very bland, or a stereotype of detective movies
- Puzzles, and the entire game is just a text dump
- Over 8 endings that are not needed for the game
*Spoilers start here*
Overall this game was fun at first, but almost instantly became boring when I realized that every situation in the game is going back to read through dialogues, to answer multiple choice questions based on what you just heard. I wouldn't really call this being a detective. It more is like doing homework for school. Which is very much not a coincidence as they introduce you to the games mechanics in the tutorial by making you do literal homework for a girl going to school.
You have tons of homework to do in the game. Playing the game just feels like a chore with your reward being a very depressing mopey detective who is trying to sound like Adam Jenson from Deus Ex, but who only has one tone, and very poor dialogue delivery. Usually its okay, but certain moments like, "Campbell, Liam. Fucking... Campbell," stick out like a sore thumb.
There are moments like in the Sakura Hotel where the audio when you go up the elevator. The waterfall fountain is so much louder than everything else the only way to stop it is to mute the game in the audio mixer
There are 8 endings and no way to reload saves in this game, or skip any cutscenes.
Most of your decisions don't matter and there are timers for certain decisions, but even when you can ask someone every question there is also a timer that doesn't matter.
BIg Pharma must utterly adore this programee. Edward Jenner is a name that every med school graduate is indoctrinated with, you can find his story of 225 years of these PROGRAMS on wikipedia where he is lauded as the greatest hero who has pretty much ever lived! EVER WONDER if there is another side to the story, one you have been deliberately withheld from learning by the mainstream & alt media? Take a wild guess who owns those industries? Then connect the dots! YOU CAN still use one of the greatest research machines ever created to do some actual knowledge gathering. If you are honestly hungry for truth!
