GWENT: The Witcher Card Game

Really, really unique and cool

First of all, something about the many negative reviews: Many of the reviews here are outdated and from people, who disliked the game, NOT because it sucks (as many say), but because it was different. It had a rough start, but started off by fixing fundamental problems the beta version had and started off with a solid base set of cards to expand on it. That was in the past, now lets fast forward a few months to the present... Gwent is in its best shape. gwent is out for like 3 months and it had two major balance changes, strong gameplay changes that enhanced the player experience and made the game more enjoyable by introducing a better mulligan and leader provision system. There was, very recently, also the leaders update which introduced five new leaders, one for every faction, together with a new season of the boar reward book page with many new nodes and trinkets like a new pig board. All that content while fixing bugs and delivering events like changing arena modes, keg events and the all new faction challenge witha ll faction fighting for the win. It has a new interface, faction specific quests and players can track what faction is winning at the moment. For gameplay you should try it out for yourself. Now the negatives. The game still has some bugs, although theyre rare. There is a cool tutorial, but it doesnt teach a new player nearly enough. As a new player it can be that you feel overwhelmed, in that case ill recommend asking for help on the subreddit or gwent sites like team aretuza. Also the animations are not queueable, which is unfortunate, but might be something theyre working on and it has no drag and drop, which is not a big deal for most, but as a card game player it might take some time to get used to it. To add to everything, Gwent now has a new Game director Jason Slama, who is widely praised within the community for various reasons. Gwent is a great game, with a promising looking future. Try it out and dont listen to beta players.
