A Plague Tale: Requiem

A worthy sequel

I just finished the main questline - and I enjoyed this game even more than the first part "Plague Tale Innocence". It is the same game like Innocence, just better graphics, more epic places to explore and a longer story. I was shocked by the story ending.

Horizon Zero Dawn™ Complete Edition

Wow this game is amazing!

I didn't know anything about this game before I bought it. I watched the GOG trailers, saw some RPG action and story and decided to give it a try. I didn't expect much.. It turned out the be one of the best games I played in the last years! ~50 hrs into the game atm - I rushed the main story because it was interesting and I am now completing the side quests and achievements. I will surely do at least 1 more playthrough on New Game+ (and maybe even go for 100% achievement completion.. it might like the game so much.. but not sure yet :D) The good (and a comparison to The Witcher 3) + amazing and very original world building - the setting, the story, the scenery - I enjoyed this game at least as much as TW3 on my first playthrough. + combat / skills / crafting - somewhat simple and easy to master but very enjoyable, accessible and fluid - really well made, well tested - in my opinion much better than TW3 + graphics / music also very good - graphics is weaker than in TW3 but still good enough to enjoy the game I am happy that Sony decided to release this game for PC. No, exclusive games will never make me buy a Playstation but I will happily pay them money for content like this when it is released on the PC. Looking forward to playing the sequel once it comes to PC. Well done Guerrilla team! (I watched all the credentials after the game ended :D :D)

Dawn of Man

170+ hours of fun

After 170 hours played and all achievements unlocked I am giving this game 5 stars. Even if the mechanics are simple, trade items not balanced in value and villagers sometimes having to be manually told to do things correctly.. I spent hours upon hours playing this game and it was fun. Then at the end I finally got it - this game doesn't try to be a complex and balanced 4X game - it is a relaxing, nice looking game with some simple challenges to learn and overcome.

Dungeons 3

Pitty - annoying 'humor' ruins it for me

Bought the game on a sale (looks good, good reviews) then started it and closed after 3 minutes of the intro. The 'humor' is so stupid, like forcefully trying to be funny .. for me really bad and annoying. I don't think I am ever coming back to this game. It's a pity because other things looked good - good graphics/models and was looking overall well polished - like a lot of effort was put into the other aspects of the game. So for someone else this game might be 3/4/5 stars. For me it's a 1 because it's unplayable - it's like really bad forced British humor or whatever..

Sid Meier's Civilization IV®: The Complete Edition

Still into this game after 13 years

I am still playing this game occasionally, after putting thousands of hours into it since 2006. This game has by far the best *replayability* from any game I played so far (and I played many as a 40-yo gamer). You can spend endless hours trying to optimize / number crunch your strategies, then compare with what other people are doing at "CivFanatics Forums". There are many different strategies that one can use build his/her civ (and has to, depending on the generated start). Perhaps the one mechanic that makes this game unique for me is that founding of a new city also increases the upkeep for existing cities - so one has to plan citizen tiles and expansion very carefully in the early game on higher difficulties. The second thing I would note about this game is the opponent civs AI - when I was new to the game it really felt like the opponents have a mind of their own and after thousands of hours spent playing and knowing the AI better I still find it interesting and well made. And the graphics and sounds still look good in 2019.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown Complete Pack

A worthy remake!

I was a big fan of the original 2 XCOM games in the 90-ties, and this remake is awesome. After 70 hours played I see that I am gonna spend many many more hours playing it. I really like the implementation - many details were really well made. The characters and animations are capturing, the music and atmosphere is really nice. The gameplay and tech-tree are enjoyable and replayable (at least after 70 hours). Giving it 5 stars even if no Linux version available. And also 100% buying the sequel XCOM2 when it comes, just based on this game (I find XCOM graphics/art nicer than XCOM2..) Good job Firaxis!
