STAR WARS™ Knights of the Old Republic™ II: The Sith Lords™

Beware of Nar Shaddaa

The Planet that is Nar Shaddaa killed two different playthroughs by me and a friend. And it wasn't the same but two different bugs, that caused this, who knows how much more are lurking on this planet or the whole game. So, to whoever might enjoy this game, ( i did too for a short time ) be warned! Make as many different savegames as possible because this game might break yours at any time. The game won't tell you, that you are stuck. It's no feature because you made wrong decisions. Its just the bad programming of the game. And sadly, the Sith Lords Restored Content Mod doesn't help either.

Yooka-Laylee

Not bad, but not good either

Would be around 70% if gog would allow for a bigger variety of game ratings. Anyway, the start is nice, i smiled a few times, partially cause of the jokes, partially cause of the mumbling voices and just because it felt alot like Banjo Kazooie. Btw. the voices, which seem to be annoying for alot of people get less and less used the further the game proceeds, so that shouldn't be a real issue... never was for me and still don't get the hate about them. But sadly, the levels aren't build nearly as well as the ones from BK. Even though they are wide open areas, the worlds kinda feel like patchworks of segregated small challenges. And the challenges are uninspired most of the time. With at least 50% of them being timed races through rings, at least one boring "arcade challenge" per level, except for the casino stage, that one was actually ok. A lorry challenge per level, which is extremely bad compared to the ones you know from any DK, old and new. And the rest are small "puzzles" where you have to look for the right ability triggers to solve them. And all of those worlds and challenges felt really unpolished. Animations from the characters are often missing or not fitting at all. You can skip some challenges with newer abilities while others have invisible walls to lock you to a specific path. The enemies are the same in every map just with different skins. The music isn't very good either. And i'm kinda angered by David Wise and Grant Kirkhope. I have no idea what went wrong with this one, but both of these guys composed awesome soundtracks in the past for DK and BK. Yooka-Laylee though, is a big disappointment in this regard. I can commend this game to people who have only a PC, already finished SM46, BK and BT and desperately want to play a 3D-Jump and Run. But to everyone else, don't buy this game.

Anno 1404: Gold Edition

Multiplayer is a pain in the a**

Well... setting up your profile for Online Play is a huge pain in the a** and this game has no LANsupport without the Onlineprofile either. Maybe not with the profile either. I can't check right now since it doesn't give me access to multiplayer , not even grayed out, or any hint at what the f*** is wrong with my game. Activating my profile, which was activated online awhile ago and is still marked as (ONLINE) doesn't change a thing. Sure, i could contact support again or look up my problem but i will just play something else at this point and warn everybody else who considers buying this game. Bottom line: If you want to play this with friends, you will encounter several issues hindering the fun, or stopping you from playing the game altogether. Just get one of the other Annos, except 1503 since that one has no multiplayer either.

Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power

Game is short?

Me and two friends play alot of coop-games, SoM, Castle Crashers, Affordable Space Adventures and of couse, we played Trine. First two games were really good and challenging on hardest difficulty. The third one was boring... so boring, that we didn't even finish the few hours it apparently lasts. The third dimension isn't implemented well, the new puzzles feel heartless and overall, the world and the gameplay mechanics don't feel polished at all. Almost like the developers had no clue of what to do with this new 3D-enviroment. If you haven't played Trine 1 or 2, get one of those. If you already completed those two, look somewwhere else, because this game isn't worth your time or money.

Expeditions: Conquistador

too short but sweet

Strong: -You can treat the native americans however you want. Choosing a good path actually means something when there is an alternative -the dialogues are mostly well written. -the turn-based combat system is interesting enough to not bore you for as long as the game lasts -the ability to kinda build your own party Weak: -not nearly enough skills for the characters -main story too short -many characters just stop participating in the dialogues when the story advances Stuff you should know: The game is a survival RPG. Managing the resources of your party isn't extremely hard but can be a nuisance for some players. Resources include food, medicin and weapons. The weapons can be repaired even after a long time, when they brake. But wounded characters need fast treatment since perma death is a thing in this game. PS: GoG-reviews rly need more than 5 stars.

No Multiplayer

Well, it doesn't support LAN and the online Servers aren't working. Don't buy!

Elven Legacy Collection

Multiplayer alone

Just a quick warning for everybody who is in search for a good multiplayer / lan-experience. Do not buy this game. It is absolutely no fun in multiplayer at all without much of strategic depth, base building or unit variation.

Banner Saga

Good story, mediocre game

The biggest problem i have with this game, is that it doesn't realy want to be a game. You can fail all over the place and still finish it because the game just wants to tell a story. In theory, you have to manage a caravan with soldiers, varls(fantasy creatures) and alot of civilists. Supplies are scarce in the world of Banner Saga and you need a big, well fed army to defeat the dredd that are pillaging villages and cities. Humans and especially varls are on the edge of extinction in this game and your army could make the difference in this world. So you have to make harsh choices and sometimes leave people you come across die because you can't feed another mouth. Oh, and leveling up your heroes and buying new supplies takes up the same resource, so thats another harsh descision you have to make. Well, that's the idea. But this game, even on the highest difficulty, won't allow you to fail. You can litteraly starve all your people to death. It won't have any effect on the story. Failing in combat is also no problem. The game will continue no matter what. I ruined this game for myself when i heard about this because the story is realy good as far as i can tell. (The Banner Saga has a wide open end) But when the gameplay part is absolutely senseless it ruins the experience as a whole and even the depressingly feeling that you had when your caravan reaches the last supply is suddenly gone. Because it does not matter anyway. TBS is a huge missed opportunity.
