Elven Legacy
The shadows of destruction begin to loom on the horizon once a human mage uncovers a dark and powerful secret dating back to the remote past of the Elven race. However, the Elves cannot allow this forbidden knowledge to fall into the hands of others and thus imperil the world. For the first time in countless years, this ancient race must venture forth and interfere with events transpiring in the lands of man. With the renegade mage in their sights, the sorceress Gilwen and ranger-lord Seagate set off together, unaware that beliefs and friendships alike will soon be tested...

Elven Legacy: Magic
The era of Elven Legacy is coming to an end. The relentless wave of demonic magical energy triggered by the death of the demon Farrakh has swept the world and has now reached the free city of Sylent. Powerless, the Masters of the Academy of Magic are being driven insane. The Holy Inquisition, inspired by the clerics of the kingdom of New Tixus, acts swiftly to intervene in the seemingly hopeless cause of preventing the world’s slide into darkness and madness.

At the forefront is Alfred Brennock, the Archmage supreme, who alone is mastered in the arcane arts, and who alone can save the lives and the sanity of his Academy pupils. Using the strength and potency of the Sagittel’s curse, Brennock faces the ultimate test of his will as he creates spells of untold power, summons legions of mystical spectres, and crosses half a world in a desperate attempt to stem the tide of evil. But he isn’t the only one...

Elven Legacy: Ranger
The Order of Marcus, long dormant in its isolation, is expanding. The renowned ranger Cornelius, armed with his spear and trained in the arts of subterfuge, has been tasked with preparing the world of Illis for the coming of the order.

Ranger Cornelius possesses a holy spear that can apply special powers to his attacks. In Elven Legacy, each unit's operation could only be performed once per turn - one move and one attack. Ranger Cornelius can now use special attributes of his sacred spear without losing his turn. For example, he can activate a paralysing stroke and then throw the spear at the enemy. The enemy unit will not only suffer damage from the attack, but they will also be unable to move during the enemy’s turn.

Elven Legacy: Siege
Several months have passed since the return of the Order of Marcus from exile to the continent and their founding of the kingdom of New Tixus in this, the second official Expansion to the epic Fantasy Strategy game Elven Legacy.

Outcast elves under the leadership of the elven lord Saggitel, have once more acted provocatively and dared to cross in to the realm of man, but the human armies are ready and waiting. Inciting the wrath of brother Karel, the fearsome knight of the Holy Inquisition, along with the agent of New Tixus, the ranger Cornelius, Saggitel is now their target of retribution. How far can Saggitel run before they catch up to him?

Each of the heroes, whatever their individual cause, has a mighty army behind them. In the course of their adventures, each will have to stand in battle and withstand mighty sieges in their quest for survival and victory. The ancient impregnable fortresses of the dwarves, the enchanted cities of the elves, and the historic capital cities of Eolia, each will see their share of bloodshed, and each will become sites of conflicts which will go down in the annals of history.
  • Classic turn-based strategy gameplay
  • Multiplayer combat in 16 different scenarios
  • Multiple endings which depend on your choices
  • Powerful built-in game editor

One feature to to spoil the mood

It's not a criticism, but rather an important note to potential buyers. There is a limit to your turns per mission - if you cannot win within this limit, you loose. It is a very important thing for some people like me, who loves to play multipass military operation.

Solid fantasy wargame

From playing with GamersGate version. There is a lot to like in Elven Legacy yet it often gather average critics. It seems that reviewer find it too hard. It is certainly hard to get a gold medal on the higher difficulty settings, as the time limit is tight. However there are three difficulty level and this should be enough for most gamers with an interest in wargames. It is certainly not a casual wargame, but it is not hardcore either. Recommended + It has sound wargame mechanisms, like you could expect from a serious historical medieval miniatures wargame. ZoC, FoW, Moral, Support fire from ranged and aerial units, progressive units reduction (and possible healing), units have bonus and malus vs different type of units. Not complex rules wise, but deep gameplay asking the player to efficiently combine the specificity of each unit type and perks. + It has its own mature fantasy feeling, and doesn't feel like the usual caricature (GW?). It successfully mix powerful and colorful heroes with troops of various quality ranging from peasants levy to elite knights or wardancers plus a varied casts of fantasy creatures from undeads to dragons or air balloons. + Your units gather experiences and every level you can choose a new perks to suit your play style. You also find items and artifacts to boost your units. + The engine is a bit old, yet the 3D Gfx are above average for a serious strategy title. Not AAA Gfx but they feels quite good even in 2014, units are finely drawn and there are nice spells and particles effects. The camera and zoom are good. Finally the voice acting are decent.

Russian Difficulty Syndrome Kills Again

NOT RECOMMENDED. The insanely strict turn count restrictions are pure F-ery. For example, you are given about 10 turns to complete a map, in which traversing to the victory point alone takes 7-8. Add in relatively tough units, enemy path blocking and a wildly random RNG plus strange enemy stat boost glitch that make them randomly nigh-indestructible, you are not going to make it within the given time, unless you are fine geting really crappy mission rewards that you know will you bite you in the ass later down the line. One of the worst games I have bought here. You are constantly rushing to meet this non-explained turn count i.e. time limit. You cannot really strategize if you practically have Order No. 227 lighting your ass all the damn time. You either make it in time by successfully rushing through or don't. It has nothing to do with YOUR decisions, rather than trying to trial-and-error guess what specific monkey dance you supposed to perform to a T. The RNG has much more power over the outcomes than your token decisions. There is a clear difference between a game of skill and a guessing / knowing game. There is a difficulty selection. It probably only affects enemy strength and AI, not the main problem i.e. turn limits. Man, I get enough deadlines at work and there at least I get paid for putting up with it. A game that gives me that instead of fun, deserves no mercy. I could probably play through this with cheats. That would probably once again reveal how these difficulty-padded games do not have much memorable content. I would just be skipping through filler content until the credits screen. This "limited turn counts for challenge" is not very common. Usually the turns are counted for compiling battle logs, instead of pressuring the player. I guess the devs took the lazy way out cutting the turn limits instead of diligently balancing the game to make it more fun. I can tell the battle calculations have bugs. E.g. a unit in a river taking minimum damage.

Excellent Strategy Game 4 1/2 Stars

This game really grew on me. Like many reviewers I was not fond of the silver/gold medal time limit mechanic but the more I played it the more I actually appreciated that aspect. In some missions you do have to choose, which is more important - the loot or the gold medal? Or even do you risk losing a unit by spreading yourself thin to get both. It is also not as hard as some reviewers say but you have to consider two keys - terrain and support. Proper use of terrain and supporting missile fire is very important in this game. That said, it is a challenging game but never seems unfair once you get used to the mechanics. The story is also decent with a fair amount of in-game cut scenes. Overall, this game reminds me a lot of a the old game Fantasy General, which was itself based on Panzer General. If you enjoyed those games, and the fantasy genre then I highly recommend this game.
