Skylar & Plux: Adventure On Clover Island is a pretty straightforward platformer that does a good job of staying interesting till the very end. Yet, with a few hiccups. Gameplay: Platforming in this game is fairly good, interesting and engaging. You get to use few abilities and they all have their uses throughout the walkthrough. It made the game fun and not repetitive. Once I got comfortable, which happened quickly, I just flowed through levels. And level design is another strong point of the game. You often can see places where you previously were and where you will be. It makes the island feel whole and complete. It even made me remember Dark Souls in that regard. Though it is the only similarity they share. Graphics: The artstyle of the game is excellent. Visuals are glorious and I often stopped to gaze around me. The island is vibrant and grants your eyes with beautiful vistas. Characters are neatly made and nothing seems to be out of place. Sound: Simple, yet wonderful. Each zone has it's own vibe and music does a great job of emphasizing that. Sound effects are clean and non-intrusive. The voices fit their characters perfectly and acting fits the tone of the game. Story: It is enough to set everything in motion. The characters are fine and cute. But there are few questions that the game give you at the beginning and never answers it. Still, it ends with a very cute moment. Overall: I had few fps drops here and there and experienced some weird sound glitch that was solved by restarting the game, but it didn't prevent me from enjoying it. It is a simple but well made game that doesn't overstay its welcome. It made me smile and I had very good time playing it.
