Convoy

No Mad Max

I wanted to like this game but it just isn't that fun. I don't understand why my main vehicle is pretty much useless, in so many fights my escorts get killed and my main vehicle can do nothing! It can't run, it can't fight, it's just dead man walking. I don't understand why there seems to be no way to equip vehicles in the field either. I find an awesome weapon, but how do I put it on my vehicles without going to a camp? The pathing is also bad sometimes, lethally. On one run I was doing quite well, one of my escorts had a shield, the other had two guns, then in one battle I was handidly winning my shielded guy was behind my truck and I wanted him to go right of it to engage the enemy. Instead he turned left into a brick wall and BOOM! One perfect unit, perfectly dead in seconds. Idiot pathing shouldn't lose me the game like that. Sorry man. I hope the next game is a bit better

Jagged Alliance

No X-Com

Heard great things about the game, but- just can't get past the first few areas. I don't know why a bunch of hired mercenaries don't come with proper guns. As far as I know as the game progresses you need to scrounge and loot your way to get better guns and gear as you take on harder enemies, but why? Doesn't make any sense. Why isn't every one of my guys armed with an assault rifle? Tried to get into it but ultimately, I won't come back. I don't think this has age as well as some of its contemporaries

STAR WARS™ Dark Forces (Classic, 1995)

Here we go again

I like the idea of a Doom-era Star Wars shooter, the problem I have with this game is what's new? I don't know if the company behind this was restricted only to things from the movies or whether they just utterly lacked in all imagination but basically every enemy in the game, at least up to where I played, is from the movies. Now if you're fighting imperials, that's fine, but when you start fighting Interrogation Droids, Probe Droids and a sewer-filled with the many cousins of that that one thing on the Death Star then it gets a little tiresome. So much Star Wars stuff relies too much in the movies. Just make a new Droid! Make a new creature! There's a whole Galaxy out there, knock yourself out.

Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri™ Planetary Pack

Bounced Right Off

Just can't bring myself to care about the story or get past the graphics and audio. I played this when it first came out, didn't enjoy it, and tried again not long ago. The pre-rendered graphics don't look amazing and the audio, I don't know why the mindworm attack sound goes on for 10 seconds or sounds more like a gust of wind than an actual attack. Just can't get into the game and no amount of hype is going to change that.

Repetitive

Good bit of fun but by the 4th or 5th level I felt I was doing a lot of the same things. Didn't really hold my interest I'm afraid

FTL: Advanced Edition

Compelling

Had a lot of fun with this when I first got it, but have no interest in picking it up again. Never did quite beat the end boss
