The original is also considered abandonware, so if you want the BEST Silent Hill 2 experience, track the original down, and run it with Silent Hill 2: Enhanced Edition. You won't get the experience Konami gave us with the Silent Hill HD Collection and its messed up renderer. You'll get a fan-made rebuild of the original game executable that works on modern systems. Don't waste your money on this DEI tainted version of a horror classic.
If you hate your hard earned money, or the concept of fun, and/or your skin color, this game's for you. Everyone else with even a hint of taste in gaming, or aversion to propaganda, save your money. (Spotlight by Quantic Dream... Well, that explains a lot.)
No Creation Club. Good. That was a cash grab anyway, and everyone could see it. Doesn't excuse the dumbed-down changes to the Character Stats system, Story Progression, Perks, Dialogue, Lore, Factions, etc. Certainly doesn't excuse Bethesda's habit of handing the fixing of these issues, and more besides, over to the modding scene, their de facto version of free labor.
