If you want the original DOOM III experience, the one with the ID Tech 4 engine versus this one's ID Tech 5, find a copy of the game on disk. The BFG version has noticeably worse and cheapened lighting, thanks to the armor-mounted flashlight, and the enhanced textures add next to nothing to the experience. Think of it like playing the original Thief games on the 2014 engine. Why did Bethesda/Zenimax not offer the old version of DOOM III? My guess? They no long have it to offer with this version on the market.
