2064: Read Only Memories

Visual Novel

I really appreciate the style this game was made in. It is a visual novel, mostly linear with some minor deviations based on what I can see. All the text is also recorded as sound. And I would like to point out, why I give this game 4 Stars: The sound is really well done. No vioce recording sounds bad or not properly recorded. Whoever made the recordings, really was a professional who deserved his payment. The story is OK, the characters aren't bad but it's not a surprising game as far as I have played it yet.

Dead Cells

Fun

This game can only be described as fun. Has Platforming elements, roguelike elements, persistent items and soooooo much to explore, even when you got through the stages a bazillion times. It encourages you to go fast by mechanics so you will not get bored after dieing. You will die. A lot. I beat the first difficulty once after about 100 tries. Still pick it up when I want a fast intermission game. Also props for the nice music. Dieing is always just the beginning of a new journey in this game, and the music really encourages you to just start another run as well as the lobby design. I would like to point out that the developers released this game years ago, and are still adding stuff. Wow!

UnMetal

More realistic than the other Metal game

So, I finished this game the first time now. I believe I may beat the game again. The graphics are 2D-Top-Down only. Very oldschool. No unnecessary effects or issues detected. It is a pixel-game and it does it well. The game itself has a lot of things which are reminescent to other games as well. But this game... It has its own humor. And this humor is hilarious. If you want to get hooked, get into this story, as it will get more and more fun. Some bosses are really challenging, but if you work hard enough, you will beat them. I had a lot of fun going through this game. Don't fix what's not broken. I definitely recommend it!

Not A Hero: Global MegaLord Edition

Fresh impression after 100% Playthrough

I have beaten the game now. Had a lot of fun. Had to do 100%, because it is possible and somwhat hard. About the game: The Trailers sum the game up pretty well. The game is a 2D-Shooter with cover-mechanics. Don't expect something else. But it is a fast-paced one. In general you get a mission with a short funny briefing, and then choose a character with whom you go into a building to shoot up criminals. And Stuff. Special tasks vary slightly between getting to a point in a limited time, picking up objects and doing things in a special way. The game is fairly minimalistic, but fun and can become pretty challenging. Only drawback where two things: Unskippable cutscenes mid-mission and I missed sometimes checkpoints mid-level. If you want to fulfill all challenges, you have to restart the level several times because you screwed something up for the challenge, makes the beginning of the level somewhat of a chore. You get muscle memory on these and… well… faster. A lot faster through the repetition. - No Checkpoints mid-level. Yes I am a sissy. + Simple mechanics + Somehow still does not become tiring + missions are short when you are good + Runs fluently on old machines and on Linux as well + Gamepad support + morbid humor + Sountrack is nice Otherwise a great game. Will probably take it out in my free time again, since it is just fun to shoot stuff. If you like 2D-Shooters, get this game.
