Should have been a spin-off
The game has one major weakness: it is not the long-awaited sequel that many fans have been hoping for over two decades. I'll spare you a “wall of text” at this point because hardly anyone would read it. To summarize it concisely: - Bloodlines 1 successor: 1/10 (It's as if they analyzed what was good about Bloodlines 1 and then removed exactly those parts.) - Sidequests: 2/10 (repetitive) - RPG: 2/10 (Only rudimentary; predetermined character - hardly customisable) - Loot: 0/10 (not available) - Story: 11/10 (The great strength of this game: ingenious, convoluted, socially critical, partly philosophical. Terrific!) Recommended? Not for people who just want to play a new, classic Bloodlines game. Those who can overlook the lack of RPG elements and the rather mediocre gameplay will be rewarded with a truly great story. If that still sounds interesting to you, then definitely go for it! Conclusion: It was a really wild decision to call the game "Bloodlines 2". With a completely different kind of game, these expectations could only be disappointed. A poor rating was inevitable. They should have made it a kind of spin-off. Because I'm afraid they've unnecessarily buried the IP with this.
