Not the best but also not the worst
This is so far the best game we got in the WOD since 21 years. Yes its not the RPG we wanted. No its not a bad game, if that game succeeds maybe a next game do it better. PS: I do enjoy this game, i can play again a good story in the WOD and that matters 2 me a lot after waiting so long for any new game in my favourite rpg.

Too much hate for not so bad game
I have played Bloodlines 2 for a couple of hours and I can say it's a good game. It's not bloodlines 1 but it's not 2004 either. I mean, It feels lika a modern game, and that's it. The devs didn't hide how the game mechenics worked before launch. Just because It's not what you wanted doesn't mean its bad. I wished It would stay more close to the character sheet and powers of the TTRPG, but with no lockpicks (as far to where I've played), no hacking, no weapon use... It doesn't make sense to have that. The down part, the game performance is horrible. I have a rig with above mininum requirement and It still stuter with low settings, there is something really wrong with the environment loading. Walking on the open world is a bad experience right now. I will wait eagerly for a fix.

Having a straight up good time
My wife and I have characters a little over 12ish hours in, and have been really enjoying heck outta the game. We've been having fun talking about characters and plot points together (We're aiming to stay roughly in sync in the main story -- like a mini-book club for games) Whatever folks were expecting out of this thing, I'd say the vibes are on point, I'm finding the characters and story engaging, and so far, I think I like the feel and flow of the combat in this game more than combat in the original VtMB. To be fair: combat was pretty 'serviceable at best' in the original (I remember a lot of circle strafing zombies with a tire iron you carry around in your trenchcoat, then pretty much having to rely on guns later on). I played VtMB a handful of times fan-modded and unmodded, while my wife is a relative newcomer to the series (she never made it past the haunted house in Bloodlines). We're both having a great time, but it helps to know what you're getting into -- this seems like a plot-first game with with some player choice to steer events and relationships, rather than a 'how many weird, hidden routes can I find in all this jank?' (largely aided by fan patches over years and years) like the first VtMB game was.

as an adventure for a few evenings, judging by the beginning, it's not bad. It's definitely not a big RPG, it's strange that it's called bloodlines, but it's good as a game in the universe

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines too
Many negative reviews, troubled development, bugs galore...that's just how the first game started. This game, however managed to capture the feeling of being a powerful vampire masterfully. You just feel you could almost rip apart the walls beneath which you take your adventures seriously. The game, however, has many funny moments too, but they are not forced like in a Dungeons-game or maybe Evil Genius. I know those two are totally different genres but they are the perfect exemplars how fun can be too much. The story is top-notch, not obnoxious and it is all in its splendor and glory a fantastic vampire game. The characters are interesting, combat is fluid and skills are meaningful. By far, the classes are the best premise of the game and they ultimately won me over, despite the hate that it gets now. Fans will be fans will be fans. They are not sure what they are expecting, but they expect it anyway. They are burnt out because of the constant gaming that they do with other ones. Sure this game is slow-paced, but doesn't deserve this amount of hatred that it recieves from fans and herd-minded individuals who state their view because of the unthinking majority. The game runs WITHOUT UPSCALING on Ultra on my PC. That says a lot about the optimization. This will be a cult classic in no time. Hop on the train and enjoy it thoroughly.
