not worth buying
Highly disappointing game. Very high learning curve. The tutorials start well, then descend into an avalanche of partial information that overwhelms you, with no obvious way to return to understand the mechanics or features. Trying to determine the mechanics *whilst playing* is incredibly frustrating, especially given the lack of an undo button. The UI is awful - it has taken me hours to decipher even the most basic of interactions. It is not just non-intuitive, but actively misleading. There are hordes of symbols (several dozen) with no explanation or even a name, so understanding items, buffs, etc is nearly impossible. There are multiple buttons which simply don't do anything (but instead identify something missing) - one must navigate through different screens to be able access the feature. Examples include the formulas, reserves, and adding items. There is no save. Given the incredibly high learning curve, and questionable mechanics, this alone almost voids the playability of the game. Navigation is incredibly frustrating. There is no mini-map. There is no path-finding. Returning movement points can be random. The overhead map spins around, and is completely disorienting. One navigates by using the overhead map to decide if a 90 degree turn is left or right, then return tot he overhead map. Avoid changing levels at all costs. It is virtually impossible to determine where to navigate, where stairs are, etc. Remember, regaining strategy points can be quite random, so this can completely sink your plan! The RNG is questionable. I routinely have insanely unlikely rolls (4+ misses in a row at 95% hit chance - and this has happened more than once). The skills and spells seem pointless. There is simply not enough gold to buy them (and they aren't overly useful anyway). There are random hiccups - not able to ambush, disengage, etc for no reason I can determine, and certainly no explanation. Do not waste your money, or even worse, your time.
