The best in his gendre.
Ok. I play this one many many ages ago ;), was one of my top 5, just love it. Never found a tactical game like it. So, when I saw it in GOG was a no brainer. I just feel a little afraid when I was downloading it that my memory and the nostalgia made it better than it was, it happen with a couple of titles that I got nowadays and they didnt felt like i remember... This was no the case. This game get my every time. It absorbs me. From the first mission. I was afraid that the oudated graphics break the inmersion. They didn't. Don't get my wrong. It really have dated visuals, but the mechanics are so well implemented that once you get into a mission and the tension rises the visuals works just fine and you forget about it. Just want to make the perfect mission, one more mission, don't make any mistakes. Is just the best in his gendre. If you like tactical war games this is a must have!

The true tactical FPS
For me the best tactical WW2 shooter. On a level with Forgotten Hope 2 but with a good tactical singleplayer. You can do whatever you want, since every mission is a big sandbox (and a good one as well). So in my view this is one of the games you have to play once in your life to have one of the best, if not the best tactical games out there. Dont be afraid of the grafics (this is one of the games that havent suffered from age much. Something between BF1942 and BF2 but more detailed environment ). Especially the Pacific missions in a jungle are more than immersive. You get an immersive game with cool missions. While the controls from Hidden and Dangerous 1 were hell on earth ( really ) they feel in HD2 on point. Buy it! You will be surprised and 9 Euros arent that much. One more tip: PLAY THIS BEFORE HD1 ( There is a big quality difference between this and HD2) HD2 is cooler aswell :D Thanks GOG for bringing this here, since there was no way to buy it elswere.

Among the best WW2 games ever
This game has everything you could want. Co-op is great fun and single player can be played in endless ways. Mix tactics, stealth or guns blazing to your own taste.

Holds up really well today, even at 17!
I played and loved the original Hidden and Dangerous games back when they were new. Coming back to it today I wasn't sure how well it would have aged, but I was very pleasantly surprised. H&D2 is a refreshing change from modern shooters: You won't see XP popups with bonuses for headshots or silent takedowns, there's no skill tree to unlock special moves and there's definitely no crafting system. Instead your men do get slightly better as you use them more, and there's a detailed equipment loadout at the start of each campaign. The game isn't open world, there's no checkpoints to capture, endlessly respawning enemies or sandbox to run around killing stuff for as long as you like. But you also won't just be moving from one heavily scripted and controlled gameplay sequence to another like in Call of Duty. Instead the missions are quite open and well crafted. You get your entry point and your objectives, a briefing and a map and then it's up to you to decide how to go on. Really this game is close to perfection in terms of features. The only major downside is the sometimes janky AI.
