Misplaced Negativity

Too much unwarranted negativity towards this game. It is fun it is well made albeit with flaws. It feels several steps backwards from Darksiders 2 ( which i find the best of the 3 ) and also borrows mechanics from Dark Souls (as most games now). It is a good re-entry to the series but nowhere near the previous games. The worse is probably the camera especially when fighting multiple enemies. The best is the animations and effects. I like the art style but its not for everyone. Fury is somewhat a weak character but not unworthy. Puzzles are ok and fit the style of the game. I had fun playing the game and that's what matters. Get it on sale if you want. But don't indulge in the hate. I hope one day we see all 4 riders in a game....

Big Action on a tight budget!

This is so refreshingly old school,fun and somehow,a strangely gorgeous game. Most of the hate comes from ppl that loved DS2 better than 1,or haven't figured out controls just yet. I do wish there was fov slider and I hope we get some sections on horseback later on. Buy this if you are tired of open world wannabe rpgs and are ready for this unique style of brawler that has almost gone extinct. I am extremely grateful that this series has been ressurected and hope they make enough to go all out on the last one.

Misplaced analogy

I see a lot of people saying this game is a cheap Dark Souls ripoff, but in actuality, they should be making the comparison to Bloodborne... I've played every Souls game from Demon's Souls to DS3 plus Bloodborne to their completion, and combat-wise, it's closest to Bloodborne because of the speed of play, agility and lack of defense... that being said, I'm actually finding the game very enjoyable... visuals, tone, combat, music, story, it's all really good... I'm not letting all the hate surrounding it color my opinion and am playing it for what it is... Yes, it's very different from the previous two Darksiders games (both of which I've also played through to completion) and I'm totally fine with it taking a different direction, because this game's pacing and gameplay fit the personality of Fury, so to me, it makes sense... I actually hope for the fourth horseman's game will again mix up the formula to keep me on my toes And I'm NOT saying this plays just like Bloodborne... merely saying that's really the best game in the Souls lineup to compare it to But... with all that, the game still isn't perfect... there's the camera issues, dodging issues and mobs attacking you from off camera so you don't even know they're about to attack, but these should all be things that can be addressed with patches There IS a good game here that for most people will be a good purchase once a sale hits and the patches are in, but there's also a good game here for people who want in now... no regrets here at all Still a Gunfire Games fan ;)

Patch #2

If you don't like this game before, try it again with the recent patch #2. You can now choose between Default and Classic combat. Classic combat is more like Darksiders 1 & 2. The developers also improved the general performance of the game and grab detection of Fury.

Darksoulers (almost)

Disappointed about the game. I was kinda expecting something more like Darksiders II but expanded and improved. Dark Souls features doesn’t work well here and I am a Dark Souls series fan. In Dark Souls dodging gives you invincibility frames and is limited by character stamina. Here dodging is all about perfect timing and avoiding attacks. There’s no proper strafing, you should use target lock-on or you character will move like lunatic. Camera is not convenient. Fighting multiple enemies is artificially hard because of that. Level design is average at best, reminds me Darksiders I in bad manner.
