While The Deadly Tower of Monsters would've been better with optional camera control, a New Game + mode and more gameplay combos, it's still a fitting tribute to the long-lost era of 50's sci-fi. It's still a fun romp through a crazy world, and it's got one of the better final acts you'll find in a game like this, complete with a twist that will send you for a comical loop. Hop in and enjoy the cheese.

As a whole, The Deadly Tower of Monsters does a phenomenal job of creating exactly the experience that was advertised. Crammed to the gills with campy humor and a series B-movie look and feel, this is nearly a must-play for anyone who's a fan of the old, cheesy films of the past or who enjoys listening to C-list directors ramble near-incoherently about their creations.

Bought to play local coop, wish I hadn't

This looks good and seems pretty good when you start, but the scaling goes from "doing alright" to "where did that planet killer meteor come from?". Not impressed, tried with four to beat level 2 never got anywhere near the end. Feels like they couldn't be bothered to playtest it. Save your pennies as this is one that should be forgotten.

A honest review

The Deadly Tower of Mosters is a parody on 60-s B-grade movies and has about the similar number of Pros and Cons. First off, I gotta admit that Michael Renny was ill the day when Earth stood still. But at least he told us, where we stand. Then again, Flash Godron was there in silver underwear; hovever, Claude Raines was the Invisible Man. First time I got thinking that something went wrong for Fae Wray and King Kong is when they got caught in a celluloid jam. The ending was a bit disappointing, when at deadly pace It Came From Outer Space. And this is how the message ran: "This game is a work of science fiction. Any resemblance with real places or characters is gonna give you some terrible thrills. Please enjoy this game by RKO in the back row."
