I'd love to give it a better review. but
I have only created one character and played the tutorial but I'm thinking about asking for a refund. On the positive side, the combat system seems to be similar to ToEE, the only D&D computergame so far I really like. After all, real turn based combat is, at least if you have to control a whole party, the only way to use area effect spells with any kind of precision. The basic clothing for the characters and the camera controls are at least not quite as bad as in NWN 2. Character creation: Well, I'm a bit disappointed, but that alone wouldn't make me rate the game so bad. I thought there would be more classes to choose from, and especiallly I miss the bard, since that is one of my favorite classes since AD&D 2nd Edition. And none of the available backgrounds is anything I'd like to have for one of my characters. Orientation on the map is not easy, especially since there are no compass points. But sometimes you geet directions like: go north; but where the hell is north?! You can probably get used to it, but there is one thing that made me curse and swear and want to throw the computer out of the window: The dialog system! For the start of the tutorial there is a camerashot showing the characters assembling in a tavern (for the record: quite long and boring), then the first character says something, the soundfile is played, the subtitle printed, and teh you wait... and wait... and wait... and wait some more until finally the camera zooms in on the next actor and the whole thing starts again... And no (at least no obvious) way to speed it up!!!
Czy to było pomocne?
