Cute

Got the game free on steam and i really liked it, looks good, sounds good and has good puzzles. Now i have to ask moderators here why do they allow people to post reviews when their reviews and scores are not at all based on the games qualities. I mean i was surprised to see that the game has overall 3.1 score so i had to check the reviews and then i see all the reviews are 5 stars and then two reviews from 2 Russian people who gave it a 1 star and in their reviews have not even talked about the game´s good or bad sides, just about some anti Russian propaganda. In other words the game could have been the best game since Half Life 2 and they would still give it a 1 star. So yeah I think you should really look into this hate base reviews that can mislead people into thinking that the games are bad.

Great Game

The game is a through back to the old point and click adventures the game play is very good and the voice over acting is done really well it takes I little while to get into it but once you get the hang of it. the game is very enjoyable and is quite funny with lots of jokes and the detail is quite phenominal I think well worth the purchase and download

A good adventure game

Being a big adventure game fan since my childhood, I'm really happy that there are so many adventure games being released in the last few years. While it's mostly up to indie developers to maintain the genre alive, there are plenty of talented people with fresh ideas. Speaking of which, it's evident that the developers of Irony Curtain love the genre. The entire game seems like a tribute to classic adventure games with all the traditional mechanics and some puzzles forcing the player to think out of the box. Still, I don't think this game is going to become a modern classic, because it cannot offer anything new to an experienced player. The story, despite a fresh, alternative cold war setting, is not very original. It's an okay comedy with occasional funny jokes, but it's not on the same level as Lucas Arts or Double Fine games. That's why I think that die-hard adventure game fans will enjoy the game (I know that I did), but, if you are new to the genre, I'd recommend you to start with either a classic game (Monkey Island, Broken Sword, Grim Fandango) or a better modern game (e.g. Whispers of a Machine).

Visually Impressive & Fun

In Irony Curtain, the main character is a 20-something "journalist" in the USA who idolizes a country called Matryoshka which he has grown up to believe is a communist paradise. Through a series of events, he ends up being invited there and is thrown into a conspiracy plot with lots of twists and turns. The more time he spends there, the more he begins to realize that what he saw in posters and magazines was only what they wanted people to see. Despite this somewhat heavy premise, the game is actually funny, and I was impressed with how the developers managed to achieve that considering the subject matter. Visually, I found the design and graphics to be beautiful and I enjoyed looking at all of the details in each scene. I didn't look too much into the plot before I decided to try out the game, so I was invested in the story and what was going to happen next. One thing I didn't realize before playing the game was that there would be puzzles, so be aware of that. Things like putting something in the right order or connecting a switchboard to create certain shapes. Puzzles aren't usually my thing but they weren't advanced and there wasn't an excessive amount. Overall the game isn't an expert-level difficulty, it's clever and fun. This is not the type of game where you find out halfway through that you forgot to do something important and have to restart. You can't die, you can't do anything wrong and most of the clues/answers are "hidden in plain sight". I find that there's a level of enjoyment in all levels of difficulty and sometimes it's nice to have the assurance that you're not doing a bunch of stuff for nothing. The characters were fun, the voice acting was great, the story was interesting and the graphics were beautiful. If you're a fan of easygoing point and click adventure games that aren't designed to be mind-bendingly difficult, I think you're really going to enjoy this one. I wish it was longer!

Not bad, but not good.

This game is diverting but not too much. If you already played the old click'n'play like Monkey Island, Grim Fandando, Full Throttle, etc., the game is not so interesting. It offers nothing new, no good-written story. The teaser is misleading : I've finished the game, I've never seen the scenes with the U.S. president. Moreover, the story is about a young american journalist who is invited to Matryoshka to save the Leader - what's next is highly predictable -, not about any conflict between the U.S.A. and Matryoshka. An other disappointing element : the game is full of winks to the old click'n'play games, but only plays on it instead of creating its own jokes. Too much fan service. Ce jeu est amusant mais sans plus. Si vous avez déjà joué aux vieux clic and play type Monkey Island, Grim Fandando, Full Throttle, etc., le jeu a peu d'intérêt. Il n'offre rien de nouveau, le scénario est pauvre. Quand on voit le teaser, on pense qu'on va avoir un jeu qui met en scène une opposition entre U.S.A. et Matryoshka : ce n'est pas du tout le cas. Vous incarnez un jeune journaliste américain, pro-communisme, qui est invité à Matryoshka pour sauver le Leader (je n'en dirai pas plus pour ne pas spoiler, mais le scénario reste simple et prévisible). D'ailleurs, aucune trace de la scène avec le président des U.S.A. dans le jeu, je trouve le teaser mensonger. Autre élément très décevant : le jeu se contente de clins d’œil aux vieux clic'n'play au lieu de créer ses propres blagues. Beaucoup trop fan service à mon goût.
