Description
Uprising offers more strategy than a military sim, and more action strategy than a shoot'em up. Using your hi-tech assault tank, loaded with powerful weapons, you need to establish tidal bases, mine for power, build factories and direct legions of allied units against the enemy - all in an amazing 3D world. The path to the stars was heralded as a new beginning for peace, expansion and discovery. It did not happen. The oppressive Imperium power now controls the whole of known space, and the masses are restless. Now is the time to rise up and smash this regime.

Quand j'étais enfant, il m'arrivait de passer devant un magasin d'électronique où l'on pouvait jouer brièvement à Battle Engine Aquila sur console. Les batailles avec un grand nombre d'ennemis et d'alliés, ainsi que la possibilité de passer d'un seul bouton du combat terrestre au combat aérien, n'étaient pas quelque chose que j'avais déjà vu dans un autre jeu et m'ont immédiatement captivé ! Après cela, je n'ai plus touché à Battle Engine Aquila depuis plus de 18 ans, mais tout récemment, j'ai enfin découvert le jeu complet... et il est comme dans mes souvenirs ! L'atmosphère de combat et la rapidité des combats terrestres et aériens sont toujours aussi amusantes aujourd'hui !

sadly broken and unplayable

I got this as I was a fan of the demo back when I was young, unfortunately this game is completely broken in win 10 and will not even start. both steam AND the GOG versions of it fail to start or crash to desktop apon calling in a citadel making the game impossible to play and is extremely frustrating as the GOG version supposedly had a path to IMPROVE win 10 stability!

Excellent if it would work...

I'm doing this review with what I remember of this gem. Because it just does not work on my computer (waiting for GOG to refund I hope...). Excellent game, a lot of fun to conquer every planets/worlds with your tank. Honestly, if it works on your computer, it is worth its current price !!

Too crash-prone to be enjoyable

While the game surely delivers that nostalgic tear, and is actually an interesting genre, for me it was nearly impossible to play due to constant crashing. enemy tanks spawned in on tutorial mission? Crash. Pressing "Esc" for menu? Crash. Calling in new Citadel? Crash. Crash. Crash. As suggested on first launch, I closed all background apps except for the antivirus, and it still crashed all the time. Some reviews already stated that Battlezone is better. For me the alternative is Urban Assault, but sadly it is nearly impossible to buy legitimately.

RIP compatibility

Despite the best efforts of nGlide and the GOG launcher, this game crashes to desktop for me if you try to: - call in a citadel - press escape mid mission - spend longer than about 10 seconds in a mission Fresh install of Win10 1909. I even tried updating nGlide to 2.10, no luck. This was one of my favourite action-strategy games back in the day, so to see it totally unplayable on anything post-XP is sad.
