Nice Game you can build an empire out of socks and mantles

I found this game by chance in the early 2000s (it was old then). Regularly return to it. GOG installation ensures it runs smoothly without needing to tweak coomputer or game settings.

I'm sure it's a great game but the GOG version is almost unplayable. Whenever any menus are on screen, the game becomes extremely laggy, making it very tedious to interact with said menus, which is literally what gameplay is about. I'll try the Steam version next. From what I've seen, it might be better.

ahh, the good old days. i have played the guild for a long time and i`m happy about this download. there is no (realy) violence, no (realy) fighting, no blood etc. a unique game, simple at the beginning, realy complex at the end

If your inn (or wherever) runs out of materials, the game will remind you - mercilessly - that you are out, every 10 seconds until the situation is fixed. Its easy to get stuck or wait hours for your slowly growing business to make enough money to do something. Only a few menu options are easy access. I found myself constantly hunting for which menu did what, and where that menu was located. Further, there is very little support left, the manual is only barely helpful, and the in game help is even worse. I regret paying for this.
