Shadowrun Returns
Love this game, oddly enough my favorite despite being the shortest and first of the three.

Loveletter to TTRPGS
To start off with, I'm not a patient man, hell I have never finished a CRPG before in my life. The kind that makes you design a character from scratch, roll dice for speech checks etc. I finished this in one sitting, 10 hours of my life, sitting infront of my screen on a day off just playing DMS. I am in love, as a lover of Cyberpunk and Fantasy this perfectly encapsulates both with utter grace, the way races weeve together with spells and netrunners is utter perfection. Highly recommend as a starter to anyone wanting to start out in this genre.

I finished it in two sittings.
Shadowrun Returns was a great surprise—I finished it in just two sittings. The game hooked me quickly and kept me engaged thanks to its strong writing and enjoyable tactical combat. Even without voice acting, the dialogue is well-written, and the characters feel distinct and believable. The story is decent, but the writing elevates it and keeps you invested. Combat is simple but very fun. It’s turn-based, quick to learn, and satisfying to execute. I often advanced the story just to get into the next fight. That said, one issue I had was how the game keeps you in turn-based mode even when enemies are far away, which can make moving through larger environments tedious. I played a Street Samurai with a rifle and consistently felt much stronger than any companions I hired, regardless of their archetype or weapon. It may not be fully unbalanced, but my character clearly outperformed the rest, which made the combat feel one-sided at times. The game is quite linear, with only a few small side quests. For newcomers, this works well—it’s a great introduction to the Shadowrun universe—but it may feel limiting for players who prefer branching paths. Also, this is a dialogue-heavy RPG. If you don’t enjoy reading, this game probably isn’t for you. It also follows an old-school design approach: little handholding, minimal tutorials, and some systems you’ll need to figure out yourself. Personally, I enjoyed the experience a lot and highly recommend it to fans of turn-based tactics, cyberpunk, or classic RPGs.

5 Stars for limitless
Shadow Run in the beginning was limited. This is why you see 3's and 4's rated by users. Almost immediately though new content was being released by mod creators. Some of the content is amazing! I've seen a re-done version of Shadow Run SNES and Genesis version out there. There are some content out there still work in progress but even those are ever changing. This isn't just one game you are purchasing, but a game that continues to grow from the community. It's limitless. Gameplay reminds me of tactical time unit combat, sort of thing you would find in old X-Com games or fallout games. Highly recommend this

Great cyberpunk RPG
I did not expect much, but I was overwhelmed. Great, long and complex RPG without being chaotic or confusing in "what is the player supposed to do". Do you handle the guns well? Or do you prefer melee? Do you project your consciousness into the matrix or do you let your drones do your hard work for you? Or do you leave the world of cold steel and silicone behind you and sling magical energies and summon guardians? Choose your path... There are 3 games, so my 2 cents to each one of them: Shadowrun Returns (Dead Man's Switch) - first game and going straight back to gritty Seattle. Weakest story of the series, but still great and enjoyable with a cyberpunk-noir ambience. Shadowrun DragonFall - takes you to Berlin and it's chaotic Flux state. When the after fall of a botched job turns into a fight for survival. Much better writing and NPC companions with and awesome mix of talking and fighting. Shadowrun Hong Kong - when the past catches up on you, you gotta set things right. Even if everyone turns out to be after you as you walk into a trap. Now, who set that trap up? And why? And - most importantly - how much do I want them to hurt when I catch them? Excellent writing in this one, yet it seems a bit more "chatty" than the other 2 games. (Still a lot of fighting tho)
