Description
Following a bizarre cataclysmic event that cracked the moon in half, the Earth is struggling with the environmental fallout. Everything is already dead or dying... except you. Or so you think. Don't Escape: 4 Days to Survive is a post-apocalyptic thriller from veteran developer Scriptwelder, creator of the popular horror series Deep Sleep and Don't Escape. Players must figure out a way to properly fortify their home against each night's new danger, as they learn the truth behind the apocalypse and search for a way to safety, if one exists.

Players will journey alongside David, a lone survivor after the end of the world, who finds himself having prophetic dreams... or nightmares. Each chapter of the game has multiple potential variations to encounter, from poisonous fog or spiders to a gang of murderous thugs or a deadly heat wave, and as a result, you'll need to adjust your strategy on different playthroughs. But you don't have forever. Certain actions advance the in-game clock, and you'll need to complete your preparations to (hopefully) stay alive before night falls.

Incredibly underrated game
I bought this game solely by chance, adding it to my cart last minute after I recognized the name...the "Don't Escape" series (and Scriptwelder's games in general) were some of my distinct faves from the Flash gaming era. I didn't expect it to be quite this great though. It is honestly brilliant...hits all the right notes with logical puzzle/adventure-type gameplay (always one of Scriptwelder's strengths), well-written dialog with developed & sympathetic characters, excellent music, replayability with multiple outcomes, and a rather brilliant, touching story. I think Scriptwelder has a great mind for game design. On par with legends like Warren Spector as far as I'm concerned. His ability to create logical puzzles within the game narrative, and balance multiple outcomes is difficult and rare. It's clear that he pulled out all the stops with this game. I'm thankful I came across it...it's one of the best I've ever played. I sincerely hope he gets the recognition/support to continue making these games...would love to get the next of his works.

Sublime
This is one of the greatest point and click games I have ever played. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Worthy of inclusion in the hall of fame along with the greats from LucasArts, Westwood, and Sierra. Well worth the price of admission. If you insist on waiting for a sale, I get it. 2020 has kicked all of our collective butts. However, denying yourself this gaming experience would be a sin. Buy it, play it, make yourself happier and by extension make the world a better place.

Fun and decent game
Realy nice game with good story and music. I would definitely recommend it to others. Unfortunately it cannot get full 5 stars from me. Story has major plot hole and I was left with bit luckluster feeling on end. Overall it took me around 12 hours to finish the game.

Deutsch: Für mich eines der besten Spiele der letzten Jahre. Hier stimmt einfach alles. Gameplay, Gestaltung, Optik, Sound, Story, multiple Enden... Und das Beste: Null Frustfaktor, was Seltenheitswert bei einem Point & Click im klassische Stil hat. Das eigene Handeln im Spiel hat starken Einfluss auf den weiteren Spielverlauf und sogar über das Durchspielen hinaus. Der Wiederspielwert ist dadurch sehr hoch und macht mehrmaliges Durchspielen zur Pflicht um alle Aspekte des Spiels und die Hintergrundgeschichte im Ganzen mitzuerleben. English: To me one of the best games for the last years. Everything fits in here. Gameplay, design, graphics, sound, story, multiple endings... And the best thing: Absolutely no frustration, what rarely happens in classic style point & click games. The actions and performances of the player have strong influence on the further gameplay and even beyond a single playthrough. Replay value is very high and multiple playthroughs are absolutely required to see every aspect of the game and of the story behind it.
