Days Gone

Days Gone is probably the last truly GREAT game from Sony, for those who remember back when their brand was weirdly experimental AAA titles rather than just playable movies. This is the last gasp of that era, and runs beautifully on PC. The story is paced out like a well-written novel, the little mechanical nuances are great, and it's the antithesis of the Ubisoft copy-paste open world design so many other games worshipfully follow these days. This is what a zombie apocalypse game should be. Darn well deserves a sequel far more than the edgelord nonsense Naughty Dog's been pumping out lately.

Beat it on PS4 fantastic game that needs a sequel. Gameplay is super fun kill zombies, bandits ride on a bike take care of friends. Best and the most fun you will have when you kill massive hordes of zombies. Hordes are from 100 to 500 zombies and you are alone. This game has crafting that's not complicated and fast could do with out it.

This game is great! The lamestream gaming media killed this game and it's potential sequels launches ONLY because the protagonist was a white biker and his love interest was a beautiful white woman. That's it, it's the ONLY reason. This is one of the best open-world game experiences you will ever have in post-apocalyptic zombie environment. Don't pass it up, it's worth every dollar and minute of your time!

Everything Days Gone does you've seen before if you've played the likes of Far Cry, Tomb Raider, Assassin's Creed, and GTA. While it's not new, these mechanics are honed to near perfection. Everything just works so well. Driving the motorcycle is endless fun after you get a few upgrades and I found myself frequently choosing to drive to destinations instead of using the fast travel. Graphics are fantastic, ambient music is appropriate and can be quite creepy at times. Mo-cap is top notch, watching the freaker hordes running and lurching at you is incredible. I'm very particular when it comes to crafting and component scavenging in games, but this one nails it. It's not complicated and I didn't find the resource collecting to be a chore. If you follow the missions, they have carefully placed items around your destination to ensure you can restock and continue without having to grind. I thought the story line was very good, with most of the characters having understandable motivations and were likeable (or detestable when it comes to some of the antagonists). Deacon himself is extremely well voiced and has some hilarious commentary throughout. I couldn't get enough of his angry yelling as you clear out marauder camps. My only complaints with the game are it does become overly long (took me 47hrs to finish with doing most of the side quests) and some of the missions seem to be tedious filler, such as having to risk your life to trek back to Sarah's memorial so often just to hear Deacon say a few lines. One of the game's big attractions, the hordes, also don't really come into play until near the end. The world is fairly large, but you can get around quickly. Though it is open-world, there isn't much to do outside of the main missions, which are the ambush camps, chase-downs, NERO stations, infestations, and hordes. The odd random event comes up at times, but it's always the same: someone in need of rescuing. There really isn't much to keep you exploring.

Not cool with buying a game on a platform that claims to be DRM free only to be greeted with a message when I start the game saying give us all your date or some of it either way just give it to us. No! So I'm asking for a refund. If Sony ever reverses this decision then I might re-buy the game. But until then NOPE!.
