Crossroads Inn is a real-time management sim with RPG elements. The game consists of two unique modes offering totally different experiences.


In Sandbox mode gamers will focus solely on managing their business and economy – to build their very own tavern, hire and oversee staff, manage the supply chains and create new dish recipes. In Campaign mode, micromanagement is just a prelude to a rich story as the kingdom is in turmoil and a shift of power is expected. Your Inn will soon attract the attention of important political and military figures, who are desperately trying to hold on to the reins of power. Gamers will become part of a large-scale drama full of political intrigues, vivid characters, treacherous NPC’s and dangerous quests inspired by RPG games – You will even have a damsel in distress to save!

I really wanted to like this game ...

I've started it several times, but the numerous bugs kept me from playing. I've now played for 75 hours, so I think I've given it a fair shake. And it's just not good. BUGS: Are still there, almost three years after release. Example: The pathfinding lets your employees get out on the wrong side of bed, literally, ie., the side that's against a wall, and they'll be stuck there until you remodel. I've also had a thug chase some bandits into a lightly wooded area only for him to get stuck there. NOT REALLY A MANAGEMENT SIM: If you play the campaign, it seems clear that the devs didn't really trust their own concept — like running an inn isn't exciting enough, and needs spicing up. The story has very little to do with running an inn, and is instead centered on politics, war, and the bastard child of the dead king. It's such a wasted opportunity. OTHER MINDBOGGLING DECISIONS: Management sims should definitely have obstacles, but there has to be a corresponding fix. Rat problem? Buy traps, or get a cat. That's all well and good. But there's an entire chapter in the main campaign where you're practically besieged by unruly soldiers who either steal your provisions or smash up your furniture, tying up your workforce with repairs and forcing you to resupply often. And there's nothing you can do about it, short of advancing the story as fast as possible. It's simply a pain in the ass, it's not fun, it's not interesting. Why the devs chose to implement this is beyond me. CONCLUSION: If you like management sims there are MANY better games out there — actually, I can't think of one that's worse. Don't bother.

Not ready

While it has great potential, there are so many issues. Yet again we pay to bugtest. Crashing - Game crashes from several sources. Extended playtime being one. Pathing - Characters follow a strict path with no AI for avoiding contact until they bump - Characters climb objects and get themselves and held items stuck in geometry Models - Observed 90% Chinese character models in a non-asian atmosphere. - Animations are male regardless of gender - Character models has one expression (and sleeps with eyes open) - Many storage units are only for show. Ambience - Non existent. 3d sound of a single random character sound without any reverb or effects other than left-right placement. Suddenly a ghost girl laughed in my left ear. UI - Lacking in user friendlyness. - Autosaves pile up and you have to delete one by one using a button rather than key. - Tooltips not where tooltips are needed Misc - Character backstories are confusing and clashes with the traits rather than provide some useful information. It's a third-person impression of the characters rather than some hints of a persons abilities. - Item descriptions does not provide useful information. I would rather know if a fence actually keep people out rather than be told "It's a fence. What more can you expect?" The texts are mostly cringeworthy fill rather than actual function. Translation - English translation not complete. Programming - The standard random generator blows hard, and it's that which seems to be used. The effect is that you see much of the same result depending on the time of day you play. Balancing - Bad. Really bad. During the campaign you cannot truly make a decent turnover, so you are stuck doing the same chores over and over for hours and days in real time just to get to the next task.

Should be so good, but I f'ing hate it

This game has massive potential and the basis for a great game is there, but the bugs make trying to play it so f'ing frustrating and it just causes me to rage quit it every time I play it. There are several bugs and poor development decisions that make the game annoying, but there's one severe bug that makes me want to burn this game in a car fire. Small bugs: Workers will get stuck or just suddenly stop moving and do nothing. You can't fire them or anything, they're stuck for good, you have to get replacement workers. Luckily the stuck workers don't block anything, they're basically ghosts. When you build a bunch of things at once the orientation will change when you return to game causing the objects to break if they're orientation dependant. Poor decisions: When building rooms, you can do something like build a big main hall, then if you click on the main hall you just built it will build another room in the room and charge you again, and then you basically have to build the whole room and pay for it all over again to fix the error. Can't do any room editing on blocks where there are items in the block. If you try to include that block in a large room build, it breaks the room build. Game breaking bug: Trying to build another room onto your existing room, if you accidentally click inside your existing room, the whole building is screwed and there's no way to recover. Trying to delete you mistake doesn't work and just breaks the build even further. This is so broken that even if you are a trillionaire, you can't even delete the whole building and rebuild it, the build is broken and you need to reload a save from before it. It is extremely easy to break your Inn build, and I had this happen several times and got so frustrated with this game that I uninstalled it and don't plan on playing it again unless there are some massive updates done.

Multiple Bugs

Game is okay, but I would have scored this a one if not for my liking of general management games. Bug list to be fixed : 1. Pathfinding : good luck if you change your door location 2. Collision : my crew basically bumped into each other infinitely in on save thread 3. Prioritization : I set cleaning the floor as Max Priority -> ignored 4. Disappearing task : pretty self explanatory 5. Graphical : some weird graphic bits here and there I think the game engine and design would have been better of polished and just have had a 16 or 32 bit game. The concept is where it shines, I didn't really need a 3D environment especially if cut scenes and dialogue images are static anyways. I hope the bugs are fixed / patched.

Very dissapointed

I love the idea of this game , to be honest if it wasn't so buggy and broken it would have been one of the best games I have played. Unfortunatly, there are so many problems around building rooms, serving food, actually trying to keep track of the thousand taps and things that you need to track. Everytime when you load the game, it does not save any settings or specific items that you have on watch. Halfway through the game, suddenly my whole inn got caught on fire multiple times for no reason what so ever. Ahh, it just makes you NOT want to play it anymore. Great story, idea but the product is just not finished not even half way. I regret buying this game.
