Crossroads Inn Anniversary Edition

Don't make my mistake, and don't buy until the bugs won't get fixed. It's beta and you should get paid as testers... Just to give you some hints: - missing in game info/help/support, you need to figure out most of the game mechanics by yourself, internet is not very helpful either - provided help and info is often misguiding/incomplete - even buying resources took me some time to learn (left click here, but right here there) - game crashes randomly from time to time - bad pathfinding for NPC, including animals suddenly appearing on shelves or people inside of the wall - fighting arena blocked my whole income, because match got stuck and all guest were watching; I waited about 10 minutes, then tried to cancel the tournament - no effect, then deleted the fighting arena, but the fighters stayed in places as nothing happened... luckily guests got unstucked - could not delete an empty room nor merge it with the adjusting room - autosaves pile up (one per in-game day) so expect your hard drive space will run out soon... - no control over your employee's - prioritisation is ignored - I've build the cellar without knowing proper "technology", you just need to press PageDown - items repeat themselves on the world map, including the ones that you are supposed to unlock with "technologies" - also on the world map, you have no clear info where to buy each product, you need to look closely and search for the product icon, and then check city after city in the area for best price... - special promo are showing in the cities that are not yet unlocked nor even visible on the map - no proper sales or customers stats - quality of the products is mentioned multiple times in game, but there is no item quality in game

I have only played this for any length of time in Sandbox modes, of which there are four. Once I learned how to access the editor and the command console, by reading posts from players on the Steam forum, I am happy enough with Sandbox mode. The only documentation of the hotkeys is under the Options section where you are told what they are, but cannot remap them. Also, there are symbols that appear on the screen and nowhere does the game explain what they mean. Campaign mode attempts to blend RPG aspects into an adventure story, supported by inn-building where you are given instructions for each step. According to bug reports and patch releases, the campaign is still not playable from beginning to end. This is a released game. Considering that Campaign mode is supposed to be the star of the show, it should have been fully playable at release. Scenario mode consists of five scenarios with no clues what is expected of you until you run each one. You can make your own scenarios. There are no instructions on how to invoke the editor, or what to do once you arrive there. There is a You-Tube video from one of the developers on how to make a scenario. He says he was an assistant in making dialogues for the Campaign, and it shows. He knows that part of the editor very well, but seems a bit lost otherwise. This segues into the problem with support. Faced with overwhelming criticism, the developers chose to retreat from both GOG and Steam forums. They retreated to Discord, where they happily ignore everyone as best as I can tell. The engine is overwhelmed by the load presented to it, and the developers know it. I would have given them more stars if their support had been responsive. Anyway, buy this if you are curious and can afford the money. It is a nice simulator in Sandbox mode, with occasional glitches that require a restart of the program. The reloaded saves seemed to be okay. Don't hold your breathe for support.

Amazing concept that needs a massive amount of work. Without a doubt in its current state should still be in early access and yet here it is, full release, loaded to the brim with game breaking bugs. I made a vid to show a small portion of current issues in Crossroads. Honestly the list crap never seems to end. I made the vid because, in this case, it is too hard to explain the issues with just text. I've been playing this game for 3 days straight, now, and while it has such potential, all i ever notice is pathfinding bugs, my inn never getting clean, and running out of supplies way too soon and way too fast, no matter how much farming or trading i do. This game right now is NOT READY FOR MAINSTREAM and is a BETA at best. It HAS gotten better since the earliest reviews in 2019, but sadly all the reviews in 2020 are ALL CORRECT + and then some. This game needs to be re-evaluated in 1-2 more years from now. Kinda wish i had not wasted my money just yet! :( I do enjoy the game but the rest of it -- what i am complaining about now -- really takes a lot away from my enjoyment! :(

This game is really really broken. Basic functionality is non-existent. The good news is that currently the devs are patching the game. The bad news is that they only seem to be patching the steam version, and completely ignoring the GOG version, other than collecting money from us. Another bad thing is that the game isn't considered "early access" so the devs were calling it 1.0 and ready to consider their jobs with the game done.
