darknase: While we - in general - don't know the intricacies of the contract between 2k, Fireaxis and Feral as 3rd party contractor and yes, it's known that Feral has their own shop, but as a 3rd party contractor they shouldn't have a veto in that matter, IMO. If Fireaxis & 2k decide to publicise their product on GOG it's - for me - a situation where it goes like: "2K: 'Jump.' - Feral: 'How high?'"
Sorry to put it so bluntly but they are contractor, full stop.
shylock.596: I agree with you on how it
should work. History doesn't appear to be on our side though. 2K didn't seem to care about putting the Mac version of Mafia III that Aspyr did or the Mac version of Mafia II that Feral did on GOG.
Well I will not buy this game as long as I can't have a Linux version.
I'm sick and tired of Windows and the argument that Linux "is a fringe market".
Well it will remain a fringe market if GOG doesn't get their act together (like Steam) and doesn't release a steady stream of games and that with their QOL Galaxy client for it (I have no problem working on the terminal and as such lgogdownloader, but Linux is my day job!). And yes I love my QOL as well. I mean my Linux distribution has a package manager, and doesn't require me to get everthing in source and compile it myself.
I don't know what Feral and GOG think. And while I like Feral's work, I don't like their attitude. Especially as they expressed here on
GOL .. I mean "our games"? WTF?! Guys most the stuff you do is contractor work, the IP (I don't like this word, because it's conglomerates 5 things into one) the IP is NOT YOURS, Feral.
And GOG doesn't seem to understand that they are on borrowed time. Two terms: "Windows Store" and "Software as a Service"... MS ain't your firends, mates. You ain't in their club and playing nice well: "The road to hell is paved with good intentions." as they say. Oh they have Azure Linux distribution now, they are Linux friendly, they are developer firendly, they just said so after buying Github. My a*se. They haven't show one iota of prove they can be trusted. Look into the 90's and 00's ... they haven't changed, they've got just more insidious.
