I am disappointed by the state of Wizards & Warriors on GOG. The game crashes, it has big problems with the mouse control and there is also a known bug which prevents the player from entering some buidlings....
So I've not had the game crash or any mouse issues (granted the controls in general are very wonky and a pain) - and the buildings thing - I just saw another thread on here about that (the gate to the right from the starting city) - I also just assumed that some buildings you can't enter (they're just there for decoration), because I could enter the Inn, the temple, and the armory (maybe there's another building?)

There is also the wizards guild and the town hall, which you can enter with the fixed avi files.
Did anyone actually play this game (from GOG)?
I mean more than just load the intro.

You know GOG has a refund policy right?
I just asked for one.
I will gladly purchase the game again, if they fix it.

It will be interesting to know the outcome of this (are they planning to fix it or will it be a refund with no comment from them)
I've had Wizards and Warriors on CD for many years and I've tried a number of fixes to make it really playable on a modern system. None of them really fixed the issues enough to make it an enjoyable experience.

Last week I saw information that someone had managed to create a package with all the fixes to make it completely playable on a modern system. The only outstanding glitch was a sometimes unresponsive mouse.

Then a few days later I see that Wizards and Warriors is now available on GOG.COM. I naturally figured that the reason it had never been available on GOG is because making the game work well enough on a modern system had never been done. I figured that the fixes had been integrated into the release here and that the game would work as intended out of the box.

It appears that is not actually the case. I'll purchase W&W once it is confirmed that the release even on the downloader version is the one with the fixes all wrapped together to make the game playable.
SeeDMako is right.

when I saw playthrough video on youtube, when you exit from Inn, Old man with robe begin speak to you and give you quest. From me nothing happens. I can only exit town, go to the Armor, Inn, Church and Tavern. Other building are "locked" that means even if I go with my cursor on building it is not highlighted. If you check folder townavi and townmsk1.avi, you will see which building you can enter.

This is then unplayable game because you didn't get main quest and you can not enter to building get other quests or class specialization (for example mages).

I got a refund.
If they manage to fix the game, I will buy it again. If nothing else for the very beautiful (even though pixelated now) graphics.

If you press revert game the quests are reseted but your companions are preserved in the inn with exp and equip, except special items, intact and once you exit inn the animation should trigger. This worked for me.

About the avis there was a very known bug gog has not fixed. The avi archives must be changed for decompressed ones.

Thanks for the reply.

Shows they don't have confidence in fixing it anytime soon (mores the pity)

I don't know about that. I don't want to jump to any conclusions.

I bought well over a thousand games from GOG so perhaps they just trust me I am not out to trick them.

Anyway, you are welcome.
