I do wonder how many people have given up trying to connect due to the wait times. I know that it is the main reason I haven't gotten back to it. If I could turn off the background music and listen to something else and maybe be notified somehow when a game pops up in the background, you'd see me with this loaded up constantly.
If people were allowed to just start a single player game whilst waiting to connect, I'm sure there would be tons of people playing. Learning a game through multiplayer is a bit daunting for many, myself included.
I've been closing the app, starting it up for an hour or so to really give it a spin and trying over and over to no avail. Game has crashed 3 times on me just trying to connect, but not dumping any logs or anything useful to pass on. I'd love it I could disable the music completely also and have a button on screen "Enable big super loud game start notifcation GONG sound effect". But the game would have to be able to be backgrounded without crashing and it's not stable if you ALT-TAB out apparently so that limits the ability to do other things on the same computer while waiting eons for the chance someone isn't playing Divinity Original Sin as you say. :)
I'm going to keep trying to join a lobby for another 10 minutes or so and then bail for the day and try again tomorrow.
On the upside, the update mechanism both to the game and the client itself went very smooth every time so far so that's nice to see.
Hrm.. I wonder if I can putz around in the game directories and find the music data and replace it with an empty wav/flac/ogg/mp3 file or an AC/DC album or something. I like the music but the same song on autorepeat for 6 days in a row gets a bit tedious. :)
