Hi All, just found gog.com and was thrilled to find Wing Commander. That said, I probably haven't even owned a joystick for easily over a decade, so I'm just looking for a basic recommendation. I have Windows 7. Looks like gog has a few other goodies as well, so the basic question here is has anyone found a good "gog" joystick? Thanks!

Got my Logitech 3D Pro working but what is with the horrendous aim? Even using the mouse/keyboard is terrible. :/

Are you running Logitech Profiler?

When I played WC4 myself, I found that Profiler interfered rather badly with the joystick controls (I did not try mouse controls). I figured it was probably because the game runs in compatibility mode for Windows 95, but I never found a workaround other than simply not having Profiler running when playing this particular game.

Yes I am running profiler. But before installing it, the mouse controls were also just as bad. I don't know how people can play this game all the way through. I can barely hit a ship.

It is possible that you are not experiencing the same problem that I was. When I say that Profiler interfered with the joystick controls, I mean that the controls were utterly broken, making it near impossible to steer in certain directions.

As for mouse controls, I would personally never use them, even if they work well. I have been using joysticks since I first started gaming, even if they [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:ColecoVision-Controller-FR.jpg]looked like phones[/url] at the time.

Even after I solved the joystick problem, I found WC4 to be a bit more difficult than WC3. It is certainly more fast-paced, and places higher demands on the player's reflexes. Some ships have aim-assist which helps a bit, but you will often fly ships that do not.
