Hope GOG can get privateer 2. Having replayed the first one, just reminds me of the secound.
I bought Privateer 2, installed it, played the first "mission", promptly uninstalled it and never looked back.

I hated the atmosphere, graphics, combat and it didn't even feel like I was in the WC universe.
But many say it's wonderful so what do I know?

I'm glad I'm not alone. I still dream of a proper Privateer sequel (or prequel, which might actually work better, since you definitely want Kilrathi to be hostile).

Privateer 2 is one of my all time favorites, it's dark, moody and everyone is out to frell you up. Also interesting to note that it wasn't for a decade that I saw Clive Owen in a film after privateer 2, and he had become the go to guy for a large number of pictures. I don't believe it was supposed to be in the WC universe, as it was just "Privateer 2: The Darkening", not "Wing Commander: Privateer 2".

The wide array of ships, weapons and the storyline while quite cliche today (and in movies for a while) was great.
I like Privateer 2. It has a strangely dark atmosphere.

I do hope it hits GOG as well, seeing as I have tons of issues getting the game to run properly in both Windows and DOSBox.
Privateer was supposed to take place about 100 years after WC:Privateer in a different region of space. The confederation is mentioned a couple of times, but obviously they are not involved.

I loved this game (and also was one that kept a lookout for Clive!). I certainly admit that the atmosphere of the game was a bit off, but overall, I loved the game play
Privateer 2 suffered from weird pacing, terrible AI, and generally dull missions and a presentation that was in many ways a step back from the first. It was a mediocre-to-bad space sim with a big name tacked on and mid-90s-Origin cinematics.

Great game... brings back memories of when games were actually fun.

I've bought "Privateer 2: The Darkening" (4x CD, DOS version) but I don't like to play it again because of:
1) CDs changing,
2) low quality of videos.
Since I saw HQ version on Wing Commander CIC I want to see it in the game.

Oh! One more thing. There was (is?) some annoying bug when player is flying too long without landing (and saving game) - game crashes and quits to DOS. If you took "too many" missions during flight (not at planet) then all progress was lost. Very annoying.

I hope GOG will present us Priv2 without those bugs and with high quality videos.
I enjoyed Privateer 2 :D
