Ash_Housewares: I'm just wondering why SC got the free to play treatment while these two didn't. Warcraft 2 should be easily tweaked to play on modern PC's. Warcraft 1 takes Dosbox one way or the other it seems.

Diablo 1 should've gotten the free game treatment too, but I think there was more legal issues with that title than this one if I'm not mistaken?

The manual alone is really great to have though, I used to read it every once in a long while.
Starcraft 1 only got the f2p treatment because another product, Starcraft HD was coming out. In this case, there's no greater future product in the works for Blizzard to second-hand advertise, so they had no reason to personally do a single thing with Warcraft 2.

Want to see another example? Warcraft 3 has been recieving patches because Reforged is going to be a thing. Things that can make the company money in the future are the things Blizzard invests in.

In this case, they have clearly stated that Warcraft 1 & 2 are not priorities to them, so they allowed GoG to have a go.

While the pricepoint is debatable (For me, this is worth the equivalent joy of the two meals I could have gotten out of the price), the logic behind their decisions is pretty clear.

Yeah you're right. And yeah I still ended up buying this xD. I was always hoping for a true Warcraft 1 remaster. Or at least something like Dune Dynasty mod making Dune 2 have more modern controls. I remember the interviews saying they didn't care, but I was hopeful.

Sylenall: The only reason they are charging this much is because it's Blizzard, and Blizzard likes to maintain a premium even on decades old software. Kinda like Nintendo.
since when is $15 a premium price?
I would be fine with paying $15 CAD if the game wasn't missing content - notable about half of the soundtrack.
I really appreciate Blizzard accepting their games to be sold on GoG. I agree that their price policy can surprise (like Bethesda's), but better have these games at a high price than nothing :)

I am sure that the contract forces GoG NOT to discount Blizzard games or very slightly (5%) only and not before a few years ^^

There is no doubt that W1 and W2 are major, legendary and extraordinary games. But given their age, a lower price would have been fantastic.

Up to recently, Warcraft 3 was still sold $15. That makes it the game which price decreased the least in the entire videogame history. As you guess, it will not be cheaper than W2, so once it appears on GoG, its price will still be high.

EtaYorius: Yeah it really is kinda expensive, but i guess i love these titles too much so i will buy them to support GOG.
??? That's the bundle that includes Warcraft 1 too, you can buy it alone for $9... you jumping to conclusion and look with your eyes.

LOL i support GOG when ever i can, i bought the Bundle even when i thought it was overpriced. I don't know why you people get su B*tthurt. I live in Mexico and make $85 USD a week working my ass off sometimes for up 14 hours a day. And my job is considered a GOOD job, 80% of the people down here only get the min wage which is $5 a DAY for 8 hours, people would fight over my job, i work a chef in some fancy Yatch Club. So yeah, i still support the both Blizzard and GOG even though i make $12 USD a day in my job. And i own over 140 Titles on GOG and over 400 on Steam. I just love games that much even when i don't have much to play them.

Some people get their tiny feathers ruffled up for close to nothing, geesh.

I am not sure where you draw the conclusion of me or anyone else being butthurt. But you complain about the price then say you support whenever GOG at any given opportunity while reality is you could have paid cheaper. That's too bad for you.
I bought it as soon as I saw it was released, but also thought it was a bit pricey given how old this game is. There is no contradiction in this.

Anyway, great to have W1+W2 on gog.
no actual extras/goodies no buy

Rublore: We pay a premium to experience media when it's released. The price then drops over time, to allow those who can't afford release prices to enjoy it as well. Comparing a 20 year old game with a current movie doesn't work at all. The comparison would be closer if you were talking about a 20 year old movie. Which, if you're paying $15 for, is expensive.
Now, they've done some work on the game to make it run on modern machines, so that adds value. But I'm still waiting for a sale.
Bad comparison for your argument. 20 year old movies constantly come out again in theaters, and the ticket price is the same as the brand new movies coming out. You want to watch Back to the Future 3D at an anniversary showing? It's the same $15 as Captain Marvel 3D.

Warcraft 1 cost $50 when it came out. Warcraft 2 cost $50 when it came out. Thats $100 in 90's dollars. That's $170 in todays money. I'd say $170 down to $15 is much more than a significant price drop. $15 for these games is a steal. War 2 can easily make a top 20 games of all time list.
Vreelandteodoro, you're right.

In 2019, most of the sales on these games have been made. Those who were supposed to buy the game already have. Now it's only aimed at a few retrogamers, collecters and fans who feel nostalgic.

We could rightfully expect more generosity given that Starcraft 1 was released for free.
I did it too. But in RU we pay 11-12 usd. something like that.

Which was why I was not surprised, when I saw the prices in the home page. No way they would arrange a re-release for those classics, for less.

I would like if they had included the expansion for Diablo I in the package. If it was, I'd have grabbed it (I already own a functional copy of the original game. What I don't have is Hellfire). I'll wait for the x-mas sale, if it receives a large discount, I'll buy it.
I love gog and what they do, but sometimes it's just like....... What the %#&! , man?

My friends and I are taking our $15 to buy Orc costumes and play Warcraft 2 in the backyard for higher resolution.
