You a member of the modding community? Much thanks for the patches and mods if so.
Can you answer this question I posted earlier for me? https://www.gog.com/forum/vampire_the_masquerade_series/vtmb_unofficial_patch_plus_restored_disciplines
What? NO! No, no, no, I'm just a fan of the game, which in turn they
made enjoyable. And because there is usually a topic like tihs, I posted it here. I hope people will come here and add their findings to the list because, ironically, I'm generaly not a fan of modding games... but VtM:B is one of exceptions - unofficial patch is really a given. Plus conents, clan mods etc. - maybe not, although people not only praise them, but really recommend them. But unoff. is a must.
And sadly I can't answer your question except that people generally recommend going with Plus patch, even on first playthrough.
I just wish GOG.com would add an option to install either version of the unofficial patch, both Basic and a possibility of also installing the PLUS content in some way, like when you have to install it manually yourself you can also choose, at the same time making it clear what the differences are on the store page maybe (or somewhere else?). Also I imagine there could also be 2 backup versions, in the Backups & Goodies section maybe for example, to signify and reflect this.
Because seeing as you purchased the game on GOG already, and considering it containing the Unofficial Patch BASIC (which is of course fantastic btw, booo at the inferior steam version), I don't see why it is not possible and you should still have to go through the trouble of fishing the SAME patch on the internet (connection needed) to be able to access the plus contents of that same patch version. It's a bit of a pain in the ass, plus after installing the PLUS content, the game kind of oddly seperated/duplicated and disconnected and is no longer interactive with the GOG Galaxy client, otherwise works fine of course, just the game timer doesn't work for it anymore.
So I just think that these slight imperfections could be simply ruled out by offering the FULL options covered by the patch, since it really is a pain having to fish for it if you want to play the PLUS version content too only to be installing it again, and it is the same patch. Also DRM free, connection non-reliance should be a paramount service, what with the backups and all too. So the BASIC installation is there but should go along with the optional decision if you want the PLUS version, just like there is when you manually install that same patch. I'm just saying it makes little sense to me it not being there clearly optionally available somehow, forcing you to hunt it down if you did not know this and patch twice what could be an already present option upon your first install with GOG.
Otherwise great job having the patch there, just that I wasted some time being unaware of the two alternative installs, when both options could be present like they are when you have to manually apply the patch. Don't see a reason why not, since you might not have the patch DLed and at hand, and might want the PLUS content, the UP being as popular as it already is anyway, that possibility should be integrated since it belongs together with both the patching alternatives.
PS: BTW I love how the VTM Bloodlines (Legacy) installs along to always have a pure only official patched version simultaneously available on the side, that was a fantastic great idea!
