sataribus: So glad I read all the comments, and I agree; sure, it may not be what we wanted because we all love the Bloodlines series, but making their wallets fatter, while driving out one of the key talents of this genre.... in the words of 'Nines' from the intro or first scene "THIS IS BULL$41T

here is a blow by blow link i found on You Tube

wow, you are as dense as they come........
Thanks for the link. The only info new to me (I haven't followed this closely) was that Mitsoda said he was unaware of the reason for the firing. The rest seemed like the same sort of speculation I read around here. I don't have a pre-order or not decision to make because I *never* pre-order. So I'm going to wait and see, just like I was going to wait and see before I watched the vid.

Unclear who you are calling dense?
Honestly, there was so much against this game for me even before this move that I was already un-hyped (dev team had zero RPG experience, Paradox going full greed with pre-order and season pass crap even before showing off any gameplay, Mitsoda was only one of five main writers for Bloodlines 1 and a ton of other additional writers which weren't there at all for 2 and Paradox neglected to mention any of them, E3/Gamescom footage looked jankier and unfun than the original game somehow, future trailers looked equally bad both gameplay and visually, a year's worth of delays now, V5 ruleset this game is based on being a fucking mess both lore and mechanics wise, having Cara Ellison on the writing staff at all, etc.) but yeah, this is basically the cherry on top by now. Hopefully this opens more people's eyes with how much of a disaster this whole game's production is as well as the fact that it'll probably suck.

On a side note, poor GOG. They really were backing Paradox when the initial hype teasers began with the countdown last year. Wouldn't be surprised if Bloodlines 2 lost its "Featured" cube on the front page of the store soon, lol.
First the rumors about a bunch of technical and gameplay issues with Bloodlines 2. Then the delay from Q1 2020 to "a later date in 2020". Then another delay to 2021 with the announcement of organisational changes. Then sexual harassment accusations regarding Chris Avellone and now the firing of the Lead Writer Brian Mitsoda and Creative Director Ka'ai Cluney. That whole story is kind of fishy. I am afraid we see only the tip of the iceberg of problems regarding this project.

I cancelled the preorder. I seriously doubt this game will be a worthy successor of the original Bloodlines anytime soon. If the game will ever be released I might reconsider. But right now Bloodlines 2 is dead for me.

Thanks to GOG for a trouble-free refunding. You're the best!

Cancelled as well, such a shame. I loved the first game but this is one of what feels like thousands of decisions by the devs that makes me not want the game anymore, espcially not pre-ordered. Welp, I'll go ahead and get another game, I still wish the game does well but I'm not hype and I don't have much expectation from it at this pont.

I have asked for refund too on 1. September, so far no reply.
Sr. Narrative Designer Cara Ellison is no longer with Bloodlines 2:

The entire development and every piece of news regarding this game since the initial announcment has been a complete disaster. If this game ever even gets released I fully expect it to be a complete dumpster fire.
Hope for the best and expect the worst.
in hindsight I'm happy I didn't talk to Mr. Mitsoda at Paradoxcon 2019. I wanted to tell him what I think of vtmb2 and what it needed to do, but in the end I didn't. If I had I would been afraid he got fired because of the things I told him. I never had expected this outcome
